The Color Wheel is located inside the Optical Block. With Mitsubishi, you must replace it as one assembly. Before con dimming the Optical Block, turn the set on and press the Menu button. If the Menu looks normal, you have a problem on the chassis side. If the Menu is still purple, the Optical Block is the Problem.
I hope this helps,

Mitsubishi tv sound no picture?

It is most likely that your light engine has gone out. When this happened to mine that was the part the service technician changed.

Fix for Mitsubishi WD-62627 going black and white

I found the solution to my problem and it has worked on two different Mitsubishi WD-62627 DLP rear projection HDTV's both with the same problem of the pictures going black and white after the sets had been on for about 20~30 minutes. I suspected that the color wheel might be the culprit. I removed the color wheels from both light engines and flushed out the back sides (where you can see the pulse coils in the back of the color wheel motor in the picture below) liberally with Ronsonal lighter fluid, which is basically naptha. I used lighter fluid for years in camera repair to flush out micromotors that would slow down or bind over time. The Ronsonol evaporates quickly and does not leave a harmful residue, however, I blew each one out with compressed air to make sure there was no liquid left. I then cleaned the glass on the color wheels, installed them back into the light engines, and installed the light engines back into the TV's. Both have been working fine for several weeks now. I do not claim this technique as a panacea but it has worked for me.

Mitsubishi 73 inch. green light blinks for a few seconds then the status light stays on. can hear a clicking noise when the green light is blinking. Replaced the lamp and that does not fix anything.

Mits has had an excessive number of problems with color wheels in some of their optical engines. Provided you replaced the lamp with OEM parts I would suspect the color wheel is causing the noise as well as the shutdown issues.

Color wheel - light engine assembly is bad, must be replaced. New assemblies not available, try ebay. You''ll need technical expertise or you'll need to hire a tv service shop. MOst shops will NOT sel you a used color wheel assembly, but they will install one if you buy it.

Was the set new? Color problems can be a bad light engine or a bad color wheel. Do you have the owners manual for this TV set? If Not i will try and leave you a link for one.

Sounds like many different problems maybe related thou. You say 6043a but you are under WD-62327. So this info is for that.1. Suspect the Light Engine part # 939P977020 also you could need.. Suspect the Signal PCB part # 930B923002 if no video keeps up
