- Same problem with a Hotpoint HDA100X-66WH. Not sure where the smell is coming from, but it was a fried electronics smell. - 90shilling

I have a MAYTAG MDB7100AWW dishwasher and the same electric smell you describe.
Shut off your breaker and contact Maytag with the model number, you may have a model covered by the wiring harness recall that I found about thru Consumer Reports.

Everything is fixable, you just need to weigh the cost of repair against a new dishwasher. To help solve your problem, I would need the brand and model number of your dishwasher. Plus, you say it's from the electronics panel? Is this a board in the dishwasher itself or did you mean the electrical panel on the wall?
