Question about Sharp Viewcam VL-NZ50U Mini DV Digital Camcorder

1 Answer

Sharp video camera VL-AH50

When I try to load a cassette, I get an error message "eject the cassette" and the cassette is ejected. According to the user's manual, that message is supposed to mean a defective tape. However, I get that message with every cassette and can not load a cassette. Help.

I have the Sharp Viewcam VL-AH50U Hi-8 camera, not the digital camera.

I will try cleaning the tape head. I do not believe the camcorder has been subject to condensation.

I tried cleaning the tape head, but the camcorder just ejected the cleaning tape.

DEW message keeps coming up on camera

Dew has condensed in the camera. Eject the cassette but leave the cassette door open.remove the battery . Borrow a hair drier . set it to optimum temperature(not vey hot but but hot enough to cause discomfort when blown on fingers). direct the hot air through the cassette compartment door for about five minutes. reattach the battery and reinsert the tape.
Good Luck,

Sharp Viewcam VL-AH151U keeps saying "eject cassette" why is that? How or where can i send this to get fixed?

Assuming the record tab is in the correct position, download the manual for the VL-AH150U, very close to the 151U.
Page 10 of the manual shows the normal reasons for the "eject cassette" message. If not, I would call Sharp support at
1-800-BE-SHARP (237-4277) for referral to a local repair center.
Let me know if this helps.

It says auto protect on and eject cassette ?

Defective mechanism, a stucked mechanism is present. camcorder are smart it can detects error and shuts down itself for safety. earlier models dominoes the defect if the user is not quick enough to react when something goes wrong with the camera. You need professional service to fix it.
