You will simply need to download the driver from the Lexmark site.

While installing the software for the printer and scanner, try to install and chose custom installation chose scanner files as well. If the problem is that it is not recognizing scanner, than go to control panel 'scanner and cameras' go and try to add scanner there. If your device is installed perfectly it will recognize it there.
Don't worry, if you lost the CD. You can download the driver free from Lexmark website. Please follow this link to download the driver. http://downloads.lexmark.com/perl/downloads/downloads.cgi?ccs=229:1:0:0:0:0 Once you are there, please put in the product name as X1185 in "search by model" field and then click on search. You will be directed to a page where you can download the driver for free.
I had that happen too, look on the taskbar for the printer icon (not the Lexmark icon). It's usually only there when printing a document and looks like a printer. If there, double click to open and make sure there are no jobs in the que. If any are listed, delete them from the file menu. See if that helps, that was my problem. Good luck !!
Hi, I can help you with your problem. There is a way to do that. You will need to attach the printer to the new computer in exactly the same we it is now attached. Then you will need to download the driver from this site: http://downloads.lexmark.com/cgi-perl/downloads.cgi?ccs=229:1:0:435:0:0
Go there and select your operating system and then download the drivers. The download will ask you if you want to install the drviers so say yes. Once the drivers are installed your computer should automatically detect the printer and add it to your machine. Then you can start using it.
Let me know how it goes or if you need help with any of the steps.
