KENWOOD KR-V8030 SPECS


I have had this exact Receiver and this is taken right from the specs. in the manual, "120 watts per channel RMS" at 8 ohms - this is in Stereo mode (2 speakers) only". When surround sound is used, "75 watts RMS for Front and Center speakers and 15 watts RMS for rear (surround) speakers. From experience, the Stereo only mode is definitely stronger/louder than when switching to Surround. Most newer receivers are the same wattage regardless of mode.

What is the total WATT output on the Sony MHC-G101 mini hi-fi 3 CD changer, dual cassette home component system? I misplaced the owner's manual, and I want to know how much power it has. // Tks


According to page 24 of the manual, it delivers 11 Watts RMS (route mean squared) per channel into 8 ohm speakers.

Elsewhere in the manual, you'll see references to "15 watts per channel" and as much as "25 watts per channel". The 15 watt value is valid when putting up with some 10% THD (total harmonic distortion), this value is 11 times higher than the .9% THD value given for 11 watts per channel. You tolerate .9% THD now, but you wouldn't want to listen to anything with 10% THD. The 25 watts per channel is what they call "Music Power". Watts is an electrical term, "music power" is not. You could use it to compare other devices that only offer "music power" values, but the best indication of how it will perform is based on watts in RMS, into an 8 Ohm load (most speakers are 8 ohms). The lowest THD values are best.

AUDIO POWER SPECIFICATIONS
POWER OUTPUT AND TOTAL HARMONIC
DISTORTION:
With 8 ohm loads, both channels driven, from
70 - 20,000 Hz; rated 11 watts per channel
minimum RMS power, with no more than
0.9% total harmonic distortion from 250
milliwatts to rated output.

Hi i have two 10'' jenson xs sub and they are about 6 years old and i was wondering wut amp size i should buy to run them.


I believe these are 4ohms, if so buy a 2ohm stable monoblock amp, that puts out 250-300 watts RMS, and connect your subs to it in parallel, don't pay attention to peak watts, look at RMS watts, or continuous watts. If they're 2 ohms, buy a 2 ohm stable 2 channel amp that puts out 125-150 watts RMS per channel, and 250-300 watts total or bridged RMS output. And connect them normally, on sub per channel... hope this helps, as far as brand recommendations, MTX, pioneer, Alpine, Kenwood... Good luck

I need speakers for my Onkyo A-911M integrated amp


A+B speakers = 4 channels 2 right 2 left

100 watts/4 = 25 watts per channel

RMS watts / channel = 25 x .707 = 18 watts/channel which is your average consumer stereo system

I would use 8 or 16 ohm speakers (not 4 ohm) -- almost any set of stereo speakers will "work" -- these will be 8 ohm and about 5 watt minimum / 40 watt max thereabouts

Home stereos


Hi this is Compaqowner again NOTE: I know enough about home Stereos,and I am pretty sure to figure out 'power output' you take the total:in this case it takes in 110 watts total devide that by 2 so according to my math that is 55 watts (I guess this AKAI has a 55 watt amplifier) then you take the amplifier output (in his case 55 watts) and devide that by how many channels are being used,so in 5.1 DOLBY mode DVD movie,etc.(power to all 5 speakers) then it's 11 watts per channel,and in 2.1 stereo (power to the subwoofer,front right,and front left speakers only) it jumps up to a little over 18 watts per channel,again,I think?,when you find the answer,please let me know. Thank you for your time. Steve B.
