I have same problem. Looks like a very common problem with this set. My tv was only three years old when this happened, ill never buy a jvc tv again.

My red is out of whack. In the manual convergence the red is the only one out of alignment, and is lined up in only 1/4 of the screen. The other 3/4 of the screen has the red either to the left or to the left and arced downward. I can move most of the red lines to the right and left but not up and down. The picture obviousle has a red shadow to the left and then slants downward. Is this a convergence issue involving the IC chips? If so would someone be as kind as to mail me instructions on how to fix, as well as recommended online stores to buy the chips. The set is only 5 yrs old, would like to fix instead of replace

Red projector..red tube...do you mean convergence cosshairs...If this is the case. what possibley has happen is the output resistors on the convergence ics have possible failed. and will have to be replace. if you can solder and can find the parts... not to difficult repair. you might however run in to setup issues. any tech can do this. an should not be expensive.

Hi there,
Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.

How can you view the amount of bulb hours for an Eiki LC-986?

The manual for your projector is found here:
http://www.eiki.com/resources/resourcedownload.ashx?filename=/ownersmanuals/om_x986.pdf

My assumption since it is not specifically stated on the location of the counter is it should be located close to the option to reset the counter. I would start here and look around above and below this option.

According to pg 39 the steps to reset the counter are the following:

Turn projector on, press MENU button and ON-SCREEN MENU will appear. Press POINT LEFT/RIGHT button(s) to

move a red frame pointer to SETTING Menu icon (refer to page 37).

Press POINT DOWN button to move a red frame pointer to "Lamp counter reset" and then press SELECT button.
Message "Lamp replace counter reset?" is displayed. Move pointer to [Yes] and then press SELECT button.

We have inherited a Sanyo Pro-X multiverse projector without an instruction manual. The projector was fixed to a ceiling but we would like to use it freestanding. When attempting to use the projector this...

You need to turn off the ceiling mode to get the picture to project correctly. This is in the Settings Menu. See page 37 of the manual which is currently available here: http://cncms.com.au/SANYO-IMs/Commercial-Industrial/plcsw30_im.pdf .

Press Menu. Then use the left/right arrows to move to the icon with the projector and screen shown. (Note: right now this row will be on the bottom of your screen and the icon will be to the left side of the row.) Press the down arrow and move to the Ceiling icon with the R. It should be the seventh icon from the upside down "Up" arrow; it's next to the Capture icon with a camera. (Normally, ceiling icon shows as an upside down R when your image is projected right-side up. There is also a rear-projector icon with a mirror image R when the image is right-side up.) Press Select and then use the arrow keys to choose the On/Off options. You may need to press Select again to save the setting.

I hope this helps.

firdt off, did you reset the lamp counter? did you clean the dust out of the projector? it may be overheating as well. if the lamp looks ok, you may have just blown the ballast. try projector doctor online.
