Everything was going fine for 5 years. Today, I clicked print to print a document. First page came out, and second page only only got half way out of the printer paper tray. The printing job stopped. The amber Drum light went on and the three bottom lights (ready, alarm and data) started flashing. I can seem to get it corrected. I do not see any paper jammed in the machine, and the paper that I removed was not torn in any way. please help if you can. AJL
The lights you describe indicate a "CPU Runtime Error",.. unfortunately this may mean a trip to the shop for the printer. You can try to clear any obstructions and turn off and then unplug the power for about 4 minutes,.. plug the power back in and turn on the printer. If this does not have any affect (most likely it will not,.. but its worth a try before servicing), then you have a mainboard problem and will require parts and labor to fix.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news,.. but without the news you will spend a lot of time trying to correct a problem that requires a repair.
Clean Cartridge Nozzles (Solution Center):
1. Go to Start, Programs(Windows
XP: All Programs), Lexmark 3300 Series, Lexmark Solution Center.
2. Click the Maintenance tab.
3. Click Clean to fix horizontal streaks.
4. Click Print. A cleaning page prints, forcing ink through the clogged
nozzles to clean them.
5. Print a document again
to verify that the print quality has improved.
6. If you are still not satisfied with the print quality, follow the instructions in this article How to Clean the Print Cartridge Nozzles and Contacts Manually.
