Hello my friend, for the first error it means that you must disable floppy disk from bios.Hit del while you booting and find the option floppy seek in the bios and disable it(usually boot options/advance boot options/settings) ,save and exit and you finished. For the second error you must replace the bios battery. On your motherboard there is one small round battery that keeps bios settings, take it out but first take off your power cord and push the power button for 10 secs so you will remove any electricity for not harming your system.Take the battery to a shop or electrical shop and buy the same/with the same model that is writing on the top.Very easy to find it and cheap too. After you buy this installed exactly as it was. With the letters on top and then plug you power cord and open your computer and make the settings in the bios i told you.Good luck

My friend unfortunately is the only solution. So or something your not doing right or your motherboard is dead. But make sure that the cmos battery is full and new and be careful not harm your system, unplug the power cord replace the battery and then press del when it asks, and go into the BIOS and disable the floppy
drive.Once you change the floppy drive to
Disabled, then you'll save and exit the BIOS. This will stop that error
    message.

    This is the order.
    1.Take out the power cord
    2.Remove the battery
3.Move the cmos jumper from pins 1 and 2 to pin 2 and 3 and the back to
pins 1 and 2 to clear the cmos

4.Buy new battery with the same model
    5.Replace the battery

    6.Replug in the power cord

7.Boot the computer(you can leave it to try to boot normally and if the floppy disk error you can skip the next steps)
    8.Press del to enter bios
9.Find the setting for floppy drive(usually in advance options/boot options/settings)
    10.Disable it
    11.Save and exit
and the errors should be gone

You are missing the OS.
If you have the restore CD's, use them to restore your Dell to original state, or you can order a set from Dell.
If you do not have a restore CD's you can also boot with a Windows CD and install the OS but you will have to go to the Dell website and download the drivers for your model.
I hope this helped.
Good luck and have a pleasent day.

On my pc monitor appears " Floppy diskette seek failure"

To remove the message just go to bios, press f2 when you turn on your computer, press enter in boot menu, set first boot in hdd and second boot in cdroom (using + - key)and disable boot from floppy by pressing the space bar
Go to advance and if there is any setting about swap or seek from floppy make it disable

Hope it helps

Alright i have a dell dimension E510 and i have no floppy disk. and it is saying that i have a floppy diskette seek failure . then at the bottom it also says alert! previous attempts at booting this system...

You will need to go into setup when you boot the computer and in that menu scroll down to the floppy disk and disable it. That should solve it. var fctb_tool=null; function FCTB_Init_c708739f53a84b7887b9dbecd89fa685(t) { fctb_tool=t; start(fctb_tool); } var fctb_tool=null; function FCTB_Init_2800a0bea82c4f8db0c9352dc6041606(t) { fctb_tool=t; start(fctb_tool); }

Hi, When I try to start my Dimemsion 5150C in Windows XP computer, I received one of the following error messages "Floppy diskette seek failure Strike the F1 key to continue, F2 to run the setup...

The "floppy" disk-drive (3.5-inch diskette) on your computer is broken.
Press F1 to ignore the error, and to boot from your C: drive.
Or, press F2 to enter BIOS SETUP, and then navigate through those "setup" screens to tell the computer to "disable floppy seek", or change the setting from "3.5 1.44Mb drive" to "none".
Or, take the computer to a technician, and buy a replacement disk-drive, and get it installed.

A used dell computer, hooked it up and black screen comes up and it says diskette 1 seek failure

Below is a list of possible causes.

Faulty or improperly inserted diskette, incorrect configuration settings in System Setup program(You might be set to boot from the floppy drive. You want to be set to boot from the hard drive), loose diskette/tape drive interface cable, or loose power cable.

If possible please rate this solution.
