Question about Washing Machines
When I wash clothes and the washer starts to wash the water continues to fill the machine and wil not shut off. This also happens when in the rinse cycle. The water will run indefinately and over flow. I have to use the shut off valve to stop the water from running.
The problem is usually associated to a defective pressure switch. Your pressure switch is located under the operator console and is a round, cookie-shaped device with an air hose and some electrical connecters (usually behind the water level or load level knob). If you can gain access behind the console, the first thing to look for is the clear plastic air hose. This hose should be connected to the switch. Sometimes the hose becomes loose and falls off. Often reattaching the hose will correct your problem. If the hose IS attached, you may have either, a hole in the hose somewhere, a dirty electrical connection somewhere, or your pressure switch is bad. Double check and make sure the pressure hose switch is intact and let me know. If you suspect you need to replace the pressure switch, you can find the part online at searsdirect.com or repairclinic.com (I'm sure there are other websites available, but these are one's I have frequently used). Just type in your COMPLETE model number in the Search menu and you will find a part listing with prices. If you need further assistance, please post back with your comments/concerns. I hope this helps you.
