3350 on cold start hydraulics ok then after a while back arms start shuttering when you go lifting them up and then steering goes stiff.. oil levels ok and all filters were changed..

Does the pump make any noises, if you touch the cylinders are they hot ?

Haudraulick problems on John Deere 3350


Try disconnecting a hose from the steer cylinder. Place the hose end in a 5 gal. bucket and see if you have flow from steer motor. turn steering wheel to the opposite direction of open hose fitting to check for steer cylinder piston leakage. Piston leakage will pressurize both directions of steer cylinder at the same time resulting in no steer. Be careful not to overflow your bucket. Reuse your oil if bucket is clean

Massey Ferguson 451 has hydraulic issue with lift arms.and loader. When you turn tractor off and back on they work for a while then start again


how old is the hydrualic fluid
any chance of air in the system
if fluid level is ok
will be the valve controls to control pressure and return to the arms
or operator shift stick

Low oil in the trans. Check the oil level my 2140 does the same when low.

ck your hydraulic oil tank level ? if ok ck that your three point hitch moves up/down ? this model uses the tractors hydraulics to steer , testing these things first helps to identify a bad steering valve

Tikking noise coming from engine


Yes, you're right, those could be the cause. Also, possible it's a collapsed hydraulic valve lifter, if your car has hydraulic operated (from engine oil) valve lifters. At any rate, it sounds like something loose in the valve train-valve lifter with push rod engines; or cam followers {rocker arms) with overhead cam engines that push on the top of valve stems .
Check a repair manual to see if your engine has valves that can be and need adjusting. Engines with valve lifters do not require periodic adjustment for proper valve clearance. Engines with rocker arms do require checking the valve clearance every couple of years or so.

Can i just simply convert the hydraulic steering gear of my 1996 nissan pickup to manual steering without changing my hydraulic steering gearbox?


Well, you can just unhook the hydraulic, but what you'll have is just the same as you'd have if the steering pump belt broke or if the pump lost its oil: really stiff steering.

If this is OK with you then it'll work fine. If it's too stiff then you'll want to change the gearbox.

you need to bleed the air out which is very easy to do. turn the steering wheel all the way to the left... hard left so it's making a noise... do that for abit. then turn the wheel to center... shut of the car and check the level of the fluid. top up if necessary. now start the car and repeat the same thing to the right. after you have done this check the level again.

VW uses hydraulic oil (VW part # G 002 000) and not ATF. Your reservoir is located beside the battery, use a flathead screw driver to remove the cap/dipstick. Always clean dipstick with a clean rag before using as a measuring device.

COLD: The level should be +/- 2mm of the minimum mark. Adjust the fluid level if required and screw the cap back on hand tight when done.

HOT: With the engine running, temp should be above 50*C (122*F). The level should be between the Max and Min marker. Adjust the fluid and screw the top on hand tight when done.

Only use VW part # 002 000 Hydraulic OIL and not ATF
