Hi,

It sounds like it has possibly failed. Which fuse did you check .. the fused spur from the consumer unit?

i.e. can you confirm that the unit has power to it?

How old is the unit? , has anything gone down there that shouldn't (toy soldiers, wipes ...)?

It may be worth giving it a clean internally. It could be that the pressure switch is gunked up and no longer working, or that the motor has gone.

If this helps please leave feedback

My saniflo plus motor did not run when flushed.
The motor now hums.
What solution is there to gain access and see what the problems is?

There is a starter capacitor that sometimes goes and the unit exhibits a similar issue to the one that you describe. Inside the waterproof unit that encompasses the float switch there is a large white capacitor that is likely the culprit

About leak, it may be that the washers are worn out, or you might have the nut too tight.

If the pump isn't working, the length or height of the installation is over the specification, or there are too many bends/elbows or the pump chamber is blocked. First try to check this and the right position and installation of the components (click over image)...

Additionally, I suggest check the troubleshooting section in the user manual: saniflo.co.uk/Downloads.

My saniplus is not working correctly, it doesn't drain the water from the bath and it makes a funny noise. Its any way of checking inside it?.

Could be something stuck on the blade or the impeller. You can unplug the unit from the GFI, remove all the piping attached, remove the unit completely out the back of the toilet, pry open the lid with a flat head screwdriver, remove 2 screws in front and 1 at the back of the pump casing, then you will be able to remove the motor and pressure chamber out of the pump casing. Therefore you can put it on a work bench and inspect the blade and impeller for obstructions.

Saniflo Top: Pump

indicates perhaps a faulty pressure switch. otherwise: this happens often in hard water areas due to build up of limescale. Use a descaling agent (acidic) to clean the saniflo - can be introduced via the toilet bowl.

Hi, Had this myself with my son a while back!

*** STEP 1 ... DISCONNECT THE MAINS POWER SUPPLY!!!! ***

You'll need to drain the main toilet bowl of water and remove the toilet bowl away from the sanoflo. This may require that you also empty the cistern and stop the water from entering it (do you have an inline valve to the cistern supply pipe?)

When you have emptied the water and removed the toilet bowl there should be a large Jubilee clip attaching the saniflow to the WC waste outlet. Loosten this and remove it so you can see into the saniflo where the WC waste goes.

You should be able to see the object and reach it with your hands. I would suggest wearing some rubber gloves to protect your hands from getting gunk in cuts etc.

If you cannot get to the object, you'll need to empty out the other pipes to the Saniflo and remove the unit. When you have done this you'll need a star driver to open up the unit and get to the object inside. I would suggest that since most of the saniflo range have an internal grille to stop objects such as this actually hitting the macerator that you should be able to reach it just by disconnecting the WC waste connection

If this helps please leave feedback

Hi,

Yes, depending upon which model you have it *may* be fairly easy. My son decided to put a whole load of 'kando's' down ours!

My saniflo keeps coming on about every hour on its own and we cannot stop it making an awful noise

Suspect that you may have a leak at the flapper of the toilet bleeding water into the holding tank causing the pump to run unnecessarily.

Replace the flapper and clean the mating surface.

unfortunately saniflo - nor any one else publishes a saniflo repair manual. You can get tips online - but thats as far as it goes.

My saniplus macerator has stopped working. The 240volt feed going to it is ok.

does it make any noise? the valve switch may no be working. if you hear the motor buzzing but not working, something is jammed in there. either way, be ready to get your hands dirty.
