I have a side by side Profile. Water is leaking out of the freezer section onto the floor. I see a small flow of ice on the inside bottom of the freezer coming from the back area. What is causing this and what do I need to do to fix it.

The drain is clogged. Remove the bottom bin out of the freezer. Once done you should see a trough at the back. This trough will be filled with ice, remvoe the ice. Then you have to clear the drain. The best way I know of to do this is to force hot water down the drain with a turkey baser untill water flows freely. Then mix baken soda with water and pour it down the drain. http://www.appliance-repair-it.com/refrigerator-leaking.html

Refrigerator leaks water from the lower area, how can I fix this?

If you are finding water on your refrigerator floor then do this.

Between your freezer section and refrigerator section there is a draintube that allows water to flow from the freezer to the fridge during defrost. You will need to remove the rear wall of the freezer to access the freezer part and the center console of the fridge if one is there. Once you have determined that tube is cleared of ice you will need to continue tracing where the water flows which is usually at the top of the fridge section in the rear center. It goes out the back wall there. Make sure thats all cleared and pour a small cup of water in the freezer part to be sure its clean. Observe the water flow all the way out of the tube to the lower part of your unit into the drain pan which is located at the very bottom or in the rear on top of the compressor

Our GE Profile leaked from the freezer door and this is what I was told by a service man to try before he came and it worked. There should be a "well" on the bottom of your freezer floor where the water runs when it defrosts. Yours is probably now covered with a sheet of ice. You can melt the ice with a hairdryer using dry towels to soak up the water as you work or really hot wet rags and ring them out in the sink. After all the ice is removed pour a small amount of warm water into the "well" and stick your finger in there and "plunge" it - like you would a clogged toilet - with your finger. This will purge the ice that blocked the drain. Check on this every couple of months to make sure you don't end up with the same problem in a year or so.

Ice build up on bottom of freezer. Water leaks out of freezer possibly from melting. Water leaks onto floor of kitchen.

Your problem is possibly one of two things. The ice maker is leaking or the defrost tray behind the rear panel inside freezer back wall is clogged with ice or something else. If you know its not the ice maker unplug the refrigerator and remove the back panel to see if the drain is blocked there, Let me know, Sea Breeze

Water leaking from freezer

Check for a blocked defrost drain. Take the panel off at the back of the freezer section and find the small hole at the very bottom center below the cooling coils. Use hot (but not boiling) water and a turkey baster to flush it out until water runs through it. (it will go into the defrost drain pan, where it will evaporate)
This will prevent water from comming out the freezer door and leaking onto your floor and running down your copper pipe to the basement.

Kenmore 54246400 water on floor - from inside bottom freezer

check the drain hole in the freezer. must likely it is plugged. use hotwater and towel and slowly melt the ice to open the hole. also check the hose that leads to the drain pan. ((back or the buttom of the freg.) it may also need cleaning. use a soft wire (electric wire with small piece of towel tapped to the front).

appricated if you can rate the answer

Water leaking - GE Profile Refrigerator, Model: TPX21PRX

Check to see if the drain at the bottom of your freezer is plugged. When the refrigerator goes on defrost, the water has to go somewhere. Look below the coils in the freezer section and see if there is ice in the drain.
