Most of the email service providers, dont allow you to send email(they give this as a paid service). You can configure your SMTP settings on your email account properties with the SMTP server details given to you by your email service provider in order to send emails, Contact your email service provider for the SMTP server details.

I CANNOT OPEN OR SEND EMAILS

  1. Cannot send email but able to receive
Typically, POP based email accounts have the same address for incoming and outgoing email servers. However, sometimes the email service provider might have a different outgoing email server which has a different username and password (next point). Please check with your provider for details if you cannot send email but can receive. Is the outgoing email server address correct?
The outgoing email server (SMTP) address needs to be correct for you to send messages from the account. You can find this information in the email you have received from your web host.

The outgoing email server address would typically be based on your web site's address, unless the server has been configured differently. Thus, if your web site's URL is www.my-web-site.com, the outgoing email server address would be either my-web-site.com or mail.my-web-site.com (substitute my-web-site.com with your actual domain name).

How to Tell If Your Mail Server Is an Open Relay for Spam |

<span>Instructions</span> Things You'll Need <ol> <li>Lets assume that <a href="http://www.ehow.com/computers/">computer</a> you are testing from is a typical laptop with windows on it. Take this laptop to a network that is not your own home/office network. For example, a Starbucks where you have a wireless account, or your friends house, or your house if you are testing your company's network (with their permission).<br /> </li> <li> 2 Go to the start button and click 'run'.<br /> </li> <li> 3 Type in 'cmd' and click 'ok'.<br /> </li> <li> 4 type: telnet YourServerName.com 25<br />Note: "YourServerName" is a place holder for the server you want to check. <br />You should see a header message of some kind, possibly starting with the number 220.<br /> </li> <li> Now type:<br />mail from: someuser@theCompany.com (hit enter)<br />(where someuser is a user at that domain, and theCompany.com is the domain that email gets sent from).<br />You could also just test with a fake username/company, like god@god.com, but it may be blocked on such a superficial level. Best just to try with what the bad guys are going to do, which is send out email making it look to the world like it came from your company.<br />If this step works, you should see "Sender Ok".<br /> </li> <li> Now type:<br />rcpt to: your@emailaddress.com (hit enter)<br />"your@emailaddress.com" would be the address that you want to try to test sending mail to. Ie., your personal email address.<br />If this step works, you should see "Recipient ok".<br /> </li> <li> Now type:<br />data (hit enter)<br /><br />Type in some random gobbly guk, then hit enter.<br /> </li> <li> Now type a single period (.) and hit enter. This sends the email off. If it worked, you shouldn't see anything saying relay denied, you should see a message starting with 221. You should also get the email that you just wrote, the body of which will be the gobbly guk from step 7.<br /> </li></ol>

Hi, This is a type of spam or scam to get your personal information. Don;t reply to this type of scam and just delete the email that you receive. You may also receive from other company stating that you are a sole heir to a sum of money but in fact this is just a scam/spam.
Thank you for using Fixya, You high recommendation is highly appreciated.

My account has been illedally used , emails have been sent to my contacts begging for money. l cant get into my account with my password. Please advise . Thank you David

whenever you set up this email account, you should have left a secondary email address; one to send the password reset requests for situations like this. if you have a second email account
please enter to your jacked email address and click on the link forgot password, this will send an email to your secondary email account with instructions on how to reset the password of your account so that you can take control again.

When i try to ger outlook express to work it won't

In the Outlook Express folder delete Old.dbx change the file name from Old.bak to Old.dbx
Also, if this does not help, try as a last resort use a special software.
If not important, paid or free software, I can advise this Recovery Toolbox for Outlook Express: http://www.outlookexpress.recoverytoolbox.com/
But before you start worrying try another search solution in this forum: http://www.filerepairforum.com/forum/microsoft/microsoft-aa/outlook-express/395-something-wrong-with-outlook-express-how-to-fix-it

The host 'reynolds4242' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Subject 'hi', Account: 'reynolds4242', Server: 'reynolds4242', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25,...

Seems you are using outlook to send your email. You might just have clicked their "mailto" linked that's why outlook popped up with the recipient's already written.

If you don't have your own email account, you can't you outlook to send email. You better sign up with yahoo mail or google mail then continue sending your email.

Anyhow, if you have your own email account, you must have setup your POP3 mail server and SMTP mail server correctly. It somewhat looks like this:

POP3 mail server: mail.yourdomainname.com
SMTP: mail.yourdomainname.com

Regards!
