Question about SanDisk Sansa Clip MP3 Player

1 Answer

Clip is stuck in "refreshing database" mode. Turning on and off doesn't help. Re-connecting it to the computer doesn't help. IN fact the computer won't even recognize it now.

    same result, goes right back to "refresh database" as soon as I turn it on. I can't even get the computer to recognize it.

Try and reset the player,move the on switch up and hold it for 30 seconds
and release, then wait a minute and slide it up to turn it on, as normal.

If this does not work check the firmware, and go to the website and see if the updates that are out are newer then what you have for version.

    Just wait, someone will come along and explain how to re-flash
    the firmware in 2 minutes with flash and back.

    You could just work 30 hours overtime at your job and buy a new one.

Sansa clip jammed

Rebooting the device usually helps with this.
Any time it's 'stuck', you can do a soft reset (reboot) by holding the power/hold button up in the 'on' position while pressing the center-round button for a few seconds.
If it defaults to off, it should restart normally by using the power-on switch.

Sansa clip is stuck on Refresh Database Screen.

1ST: Just try to 'reset' by holding down the main center button AND pushing UP on the lock/off-on button, for about 8-9 seconds,
It will then 'refresh' the database, shouldn't lose anything,
OR:
MANY problems can be fixed ultimately by the following;
REFORMAT the SansaDisk Clip by finding it in My Computer and right click then just 'format' the thing. THEN drag and drop new music into it (or books), DRAG and DROP, you apparently erase the thing with a 'FORMAT' ....BUT - it's .sys files remain and it is like new {as in empty}
This usually fixes almost anything, should even erase a virus (I'm guessing) but shouldn't hurt it.
Good Luck!

-simple 'drag and drop' from my MUSIC folder seems to work just fine for me...

Refresh database

it's supposed to refresh database anytime you make changes to your clip. also, check in the settings what usb mode you're in as well as "my computer" to see if the device shows up when it's plugged in. as for transfering media, if you want to use a program to do it for you, use mtp (under settings on your clip). if you want to manually drag and drop, put it in msc (also in settings). also in msc, it doesn't really matter where you decide to drop the files onto the player, although there should already be a music folder to help keep things organized.

My Sansa doesn´t work well,

If it is still on, hold down the power button for about 15 seconds; that should turn it off. Try turning it on again. If it still does not work, turn it off by holding power for 15 seconds, then on again like this: - Put hold on - Hold record - Press power on This will start recovery mode, follow on-screen instructions. Hope all goes well!!
