Question about Uniden Radio Communications
I have a cobra 135 base radio. It powers up and and lights up. It was working fine. Now i can't hear anybody and they can't hear me. I have no sound. I checked the speaker and got it on a good antanna.
It is possible the audio amp has failed. If I remember this radio it uses two push pull transistors for the audio amp. Check the mic connector as it may have a broken wire and that can cause a disconnection both ways. Lastly the radio uses a relay to switch from receive to transmit and the contacts can get dirty with age and this rig is getting old! This relay can be cleaned but use the striking surface from a book of matches as the points are silver or an alloy a palladium and can be damaged if cleaned improperly.
