Why is my Epson WF 2530 double shadow printing?

Allen, that's very unusual. I've been using a workforce printer for years, and haven't ever seen anything like that.
What paper are you using, and what paper setting in your computer?
When you rand a nozzle test, were the nozzle lines even, or did some look kind of out of place? (a deflected nozzle will give that gosting effect, and "underhead cleaning" is the answer)

Head cleaning

Please don't try to clean the "head" A laser printer is a very delicate apparatus and can be dammaged very easy. The manual gives several reasons, why shadow's can apear. One is the paper could be to moist. You could see the manual (still online) to check what "shadow" is closest you what your machine produces.
Maintanance starts at page 72 and is followed by trouble shooting, where you can see print errors.

Take the toner cartridge out of the printer. Shake it side to side. Reinstall it and print something.
See if that fixes the output.
Could also be the transfer roller.

Shadowing/graying with printing

Hi fa1103:
Gray background
1. Do not use media that has already been run through the printer.
2. Try using a different type of media.
3. Print a few more pages to see if the problem corrects itself.
4. Turn over the stack of media in the tray. Also, try rotating the stack 180°.
5. Open the Configure Device menu at the printer control panel. On the Print Quality
submenu, increase the TONER DENSITY setting. See the user guide.
6. Make sure that the environmental specifications for the printer are being met.
try these steps to see if they work for you.

Printer won't print form command

wow.. your problem has way too many possible causes... you need to give more details for me or someone else to provide you detailed assistance to solve your issue..

start by checking the obvios..
1. has it ever worked? if no it may be broken
2. check your printer is connected to the computer and that your printer power cable is connected.
3. is your printer properly installed? make sure if you are connecting the printer to your computer for the first time you need to install drivers for the pc to know what to do with the printer when you send documents to it to be printed.
4. if 1, 2, 3 had been checked.. try to go into the services applet (start>control pannel>computer management>services if your are using xp) and restart the print spooler service (that should kick your computer electronically and should get the printer to work again possibly)

post more details like what printer you are using, wheter is the first time you're using it, what operating system you have...
give as many details as possible and will try to provide some solutions.

good luck.
