Warmflow Oil Boiler Help Needed

Hi All
I hope someone can help me.
I have a warmflow utility 70 oil boiler and a riello rdb pump.
The boiler cuts out every so often and I have to reset it. The first time I reset it it cuts out again after 5 secs or so but the 2nd time it works ok for a couple of hours.
I have bled the pump and also cleaned the photo cell.
Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be please?
Any help would be appreciated.
Many Thanks
Dave

Try changing the oil pump screen. If it still fails, replace the primary control.

I've a warmflow boiler, it will heat radiators for about an hour then cut off. If I leave it a couple of hours then turn it on again it will work.

There must be a HIGH temp cut off that is shutting off too early then cooling and coming back on . Sorry mean overheat cut off .

What does the white smoke coming out of the top of the flu on my oil boiler mean

White smoke means steam and that would be caused by a leak in the heat exchanger coil of water in the fuel.

Riello oil burner runs for 2 seconds and then stops ??

1. Take off the red cover which is held on by a screw.

2. Use an allan key to loosen the screw facing you.

3. Turn on boiler. The boiler will draw the oil through and bubbles of air will escape through the screw you have loosened.

4. When it is just oil coming through the cracks around the screw, re-tighten the screw and turn on again.

Riello oil burner RDB Hi everybody i have a Riello oil burner RDB . I am wondering is there a way to make it more oil efficient?

does it have the air damper installed? You can add a magic heater to the flue and dump heat into your basement.. thats maybe 5 to 10 percent more efficient

Oil fired boiler 2 pipe system 150ft to tank

Hi,
A two stage pump may help, because you are pulling a long distance. However I have found that a little contraption called a "Tiger Loop" is much more effective at making the problem you are having go away.
I have written a tip here on Fixya that you can see by going here

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3571544-oil_burner_problems_can_sometimes_be_fix

This unit will cut the amount of oil that you need to move through only 1 of the pipes down to amount that is actually being burned.
Be sure to use the "supply" pipe to hook to the Tiger Loop.

I hope that this will help you to solve your problem!

Thanks for using Fixya!!

Riello oil burner RDB with red plastic cover at the front wont ignite. I've tried bleeding the valve. The motor seems to make an electrical humming noise for about 12 secs, then the system attempts to...

The motor should spin when the boiler is switched on. One end of the motor spins the fan the other end works the pump. The control box then starts the transformer that starts a spark. The control box then opens up the oil. The boiler should then light if any of the above or the boiler does not light, the boiler will go to lockout.
From what you say the motor is not spinning, thus it could be the motor or more like the pump.

YOU SHOULD NOT PLAY WITHE THE PUMP

If the wrong setting is made it could 1 burn out the back of your boiler 2 go to soot and the boilers in an hour would be filled up and become a fire risk. 3 not start at all if the setting is too low it is a fine line to get it to work and needs the right tools.

regards
oil eng.
