SOURCE: Wii Rockband needs repair!
After searching around on the internet, I've found a guide that seems to cover the steps to repair unresponsive drum pads. It provides a few simple fixes, and some links for how to fix other problems with the Rock Band instruments.
Unresponsive Drum Pad Guide: http://www.instructables.com/id/Rock_Band_Drum_Pad_Repair/
Guitar Strummer Guide: http://www.instructables.com/id/Rock_Band_Strummer_Repair/
The main guide: http://www.instructables.com/id/Rock_Band_Instrument_Repairs_and_Modifications/
If you're unable or unwilling to try fixing it yourself, I would suggest checking places like hobby stores, electronics supply (like Radio Shack) stores, or a individually owned and operated video games store, if you're lucky enough to have one. Places like these often have people who are willing to perform modifications and repairs on electronics at reasonable prices. If all of these options fail, my last suggestion would be to check out a nearby university, especially if the university has electrical, mechanical, or computer science engineering programs; I myself am a computer science engineering student, and I know several of my fellow students who do things like repair electronics in their free time as a hobby.
Hope this helps,

SOURCE: Microphone won't work
Do you realize that you need a wii controller to be logged in for you to be in use of the controller?
Just log it in (unplugged) and plug the mic into the USB slot at the back of the wii.
Hope this helped!

It is a wiring problem that occured with a certain number of this product.
Send it back to the company who manufactures this game, or your stockist who you bought the game from and they should give you advice on the next step.
The problem is the wiring, and should be fixed/replaced free.
