How to fix roland js-8 eband plug it in and shorted out help

I would need a little more detailed description of the issue however I assume you plugged in the power AC adapter and "it shorted out" the Roland unit. did you use the correct AC adapter? Many time the original unit is lost and an alternate is used which is not of the same configuration. Let me know.

Power cord

If the voltage is the same, and the current of your replacement adapter is equal to / greater than the original, it should work perfectly fine.
BUT..
The only thing to pay attention to is if it is AC or DC. AC requires nothing more for you to do. DC however, will require that you have the proper polarity: PLUS (+) and MINUS (-) on the mating plug contact points. If you guess at this, you have a 50/50 chance of turning it into "toast". If the socket is unmarked, contact the manufacturer to obtain polarity information BEFORE connecting!
Good luck!

Where do I get lost cords for this monitor?

are you mention about the AC adapter or just power cords. For pwer cords is everywhere, but ac adapter you have to know the specification for the power input/output and size of plug since I can't tell the model on your description.

hi, how many terminals does this particular plug have that goes to the pump? If it only has 2 wires and the pump is AC rated (as it appears to be in your description) then it wont matter which way you connect it. However if you have another wire there (ie for earth / ground connection) it will matter.

Go to Radio Shack with your DVD player and manual if possible. They need to know the voltage and weather it is ac or dc. Radio Shack handles all types of charges ( ac adapter ), and will have the one you need.
