Leads from the speakers to the hifi are not long enough! Is there any chance of being able to get some longer ones?

I wired a set of mission 700 speakers to a tecnics hifi and now it wont come off stand by what could be wrong.

The way you say "a" Technics hifi implies the SCEH790 might not be the model.

Whenever you DO something and a malfunction appears, UNDO it to get back to square one.

UNwire the speakers and see how that works out. OR you shorted the speaker wires.

Panasonic SC-AK750 Mini hifi

The problem is usually either the amp-pac or a regulator. If the problem is the amp-pac, expect to pay around $90 or so for the part alone. The regulator is much less. Yes the unit is repairable, but get an estimate on the cost as some of the newer units may be close to that cost as a replacement.

Hifi speakers

An ohm meter can determine only if the coil is open. For an 8 ohm speaker (impedence), the resistance measurement will be around 6 ohms. Why do you think these need reconing? Are they noisy?

The protection is activating.
Try it without the speakers.
If the problem persists, the output stage could be faulty.
If it works without the speakers check the leads.
