Question about HP Compaq Presario 2200 Notebook
A few days ago, my Presario 2200 notebook shut down on me when I plugged my sync cable into my phone and will not power back up. At that time, the charge LED was not lit, and if I pressed the power button, the power LED would light and then go out again. Through a little testing, I determined that the power supply is bad, and ordered a new one. The power supply arrived today, and when I plugged it in, my charge LED came back on, the power LED flashed, but the notebook still won't power up. Any suggestions?
Try disconnect power then remove battery, plug power back in and try to boot.if nothing happens put battery back in and see if it charges.if it does leave to charge for a while, try to boot if it dont boot you know its neither the power or battery and shouldnt cost too much to repair(probably a capacitor dead , possibly transistor blown diodes only allow electricity to travel in one dirrection so only break if shock(drop or bang hard) resisters have about a 100yr life.
