their should be a safty wire run to the emergency brake that allows video only when the brake is set to bypass it you would need a relay wich you can get at autoparts store check out youtube for video on how to wire the relay

I am about to install my boss bv8962 unit into my vehicle but I want the parking break safety feature bypassed. What do I do differently during installation so that my passengers will be able to watch tv...

Yes, you can bypass parking break feature by connecting the corresponding wire of BV8962 to ground, also you could add a 3 pin toggle switch to get a normal and bypass mode switch, this can be wired of this way, the common pin of toggle switch to your video unit, at the other pin, it could be connected the parking break wire (normal mode) and the remaining one to ground (bypass mode).

Clarion nx700 parking break bypass

Wrong. To bypass the lockout feature so you can see the DVD play anytime - you need to toggle the green wire away from ground (from Low to High - i.e. momentary switch) so the radio sees the rising edge of the 12Vdc signal. The green wire is normally high and is tied low. When you put the parking break on - it opens the loop.

A switch will trigger the Opto Isolator inside the head and bypass the lock out feature. This works fine - or you can spend the $25 on the bypass module - that does the same thing - but works as an electronic toggle ~ based off the remote wire and an internal relay in the module. The module will toggle the green wire every time the radio powers up.

AVX-P8DVD need to know how to bypass the parking break safty feature

Take the Park Wire, via a 100 - 1000 ohm resistor, to stop any potential damage if wrongly connected, AND this lead is taken, either to + 12 volts DC, always ON... or - 12V DC or Earth. Some also work through the Stop Lights Bulb resistance... But I am sure you get the idea.

Help need bypass code or instructions

There should be an extra wire on your wiring harness, labeled for the e-brake light. Find that one. On my Jensen, it's a peach colored wire. In your manual, take a look and see what it says is required for activating the DVD playback feature. If you simply have to pull the brake handle to make it work, then yes, just ground that wire and you're in business.

On my Jensen, there was a sequence that had to be done - the brake had to be applied, released, and reapplied for it to work. What I did initially was to ground the wire and put a switch inline on it. To simulate setting the ebrake, I'd close the switch (completing the ground), then flip it open to break the connection (same as releasing the brake), then flip it back again, and the DVD would play.

I found a little while ago that there is a hidden feature menu on the player that allows the e-brake sequence to be bypassed with a code, which I put in and now it's not an issue.

Take a look at your instruction manual and let me know if it just has to have the e-brake on, or if there's some sort of activation sequence like my Jensen has, and I can firm up the answer.
