To complete the alignment, simply push gently the ink carriage unill it goes back into position and reset.

Regarding the paper feed jam problem, that is probably a faulty paper sensor, or the switch actuated by the sensor is faulty.

  • First ensure that you have removed all paper jam.
  • Ensure that there is no fragment of paper inside the printer.
  • Disconnect printer power cable for five minutes, so to reset the unit.
  • Ensure that the paper is suitable for inkjet printers.

If after doing all the above, the problem is still occurring, then there is a faulty paper sensor.

  1. Ensure that the paper sensor is in the correct position set toward the right side of the printer.
  2. Make sure that the paper sensor is moving freely toward the left side of the product and returning back.
  3. Lower the paper rollers and close the ADF lid.
  4. Reload the document into the ADF, and reload paper into the input tray, then try again.

Here the paper sensor:

If that does not work, call HP at the number listed on the owners manual to get the printer serviced.

Hi there
You should allways gave the paper a good shake before putting in the printer and the paper should keep in a worm place or it will do just that pull in lots at the same time.

The rollers won't grab the paper. It may grab toward the end of the print job so that the second half gets printed on the top half of the paper. Or it just won't grab at all.

Dear User,

Your Printer rollers seems to go plane, and they are unable to grab paper properly. You should clean them with a clean piece of paper.
And you can also rub silghtly them with an ambry paper, if needed so that it may grip the paper properly.

HP officejet 5600 connected but not printing

try a complete reinstall of the printer:
1) unplug printer
2) un-install all drivers, and make sure printer is removed from printer list
3) download the latest drivers from HP:
(the included CD drivers could be outdated)
4) follow HP instruction on how to install the new drivers and printer (sometimes it wants software first, sometimes it wants to detect printer first).

Good luck!

I want a print on card thickness paper , will a hp-5600 series print ?

Theoretically yes, but it's too close to limit. Try, but you have a 50% chances of paper blockage inside the unit.

Paper feed grabs more than one sheet

Try fanning your paper several times. Take that nice neat pile of paper in your hands and wiggle it so that your thumb fans through the edge of the whole stack. Do this on both edges so that the stack of paper is slightly less perfect. You can also gently fold the whole stack slightly in both directions. Do this every time you add fresh paper. It should only take a few seconds.

here are the things that i want you to follow to somehow resolve your issue.

1. On your computer, click on start then go to control panel
2. inside control panel open the PRINTERS and FAXES (XP) or PRINTER (VISTA).
3. make sure change the default printer icon to the HP Officejet 5600 series.
- right click HP Officejet 5600 series and choose "set as default printer"
4. then try printing,

note: the reason why you encounter that problem is because the default printer icon is the "HP officejet 5600 series fax".

best regards
