Question about Sharp Aquos LC-37GD6U 37 in. LCD HDTV
I saw several people's posts here today with the SAME problem... my Sharp is Model No.LC-37D4U purchased in Jan 2006. One day I turned on the TV, heard a pop, and no sound. I turned it off and then back on, and the sound worked. This went on like that for a day and a half...now nothing works...I get the pop and no sound. I contacted Sharp, and they only refer me to a service store that wants to charge upwards of $600 to check it out. Can anyone help?
The main reason is capacitor have cold weld!!
Use solder and weld every contact!
It will fix sound on your TV!

You could open up the TV and look for signs of burnt components then try to replace the components or try to find a replacement for the entire affected board on ebay or something. If you can find out what the problem is maybe the service person will lower there price. $600 does seem very steap, it should be something closer to $60 an hour with maybe the first $60 as an estimate.
