SOURCE: Boombox CD player

Hi Could be bad spin motor, but the first thing to try is load the cd and put your ear to the unit and listen for a ticking sound...if there is, then the laser is trying to focus. If not ticking, there is likely a serious problem, and the whole unit should be replaced. If you hear the lense bouncing up and down, then it is likely a dirty lense or bad laser. To clean it, use a cotton swab and wet the end with at least 70% USP rubbing alchohol(99% better). Touch the swab to the lense and a drop should form on the lense, gently move the drop around to loosen any debris, and then use a dry swab and touch it to the lense to absorb the drop. Try the unit, and if it was dirt on the lense, it should work, if not the boombox should probably be replaced. Good Luck!

SOURCE: CD player on boombox

The laser is dead or damaged. Try swabbing the laser with rubbing alcohol on a Q-Tip, then IMMEDIATELY blowing dry with canned air. If this fails, the laser is dead. If it is a Sony KSS-2xx series laser (try to peek in the laser slot to see the decal on it) you can get replacements online. If not, it's junk.

You will need to check the swith that change from Tape to CD to other functions. If the switch is good. Then the next thing is to check for tape function. Can you try to fast forward, reverse. If these functions are working properly then the pinch roller ( the little wheel that is pulling the tape need to be replaced). If nothing moves then you need to replace the belt and the wheel and possible the motor at the same time

I have a model CD510G boom box that will only repeat the last song, using the repeat button. Is there a way to make it repeat the whole CD over and over?

Most CD players have a repeat function for a single track or for the entire CD. If you press the button once, it should repeat the whole CD, if you press it twice, it should repeat the specific track.

Try an audio CD which has been purchased. I think you have MP3's on your cd and your boombox maybe does not support MP3
