The pedals seem to need to be played with to get the tractor started. Grease fitting hard to get at.

There will probably be safety switches on some of the pedals.
A flexible hose on your grease gun will make maintenance much easier. Also, try turning the wheels to either side to mke the fittings more accessible.
Grease is good.
Take your time and your mower will love you.

What is used to lubricate the transaxle of craftsman gt5000 garden tractor. Is it grease only or 80-90w oil?

If tractor is _very_ old (and/or worn), you can't go wrong with 90-145w gear oil. Someone may have used grease for a bad leak, but heavy gear oil should work for you. Remove as much grease as possible without using solvent, and then fill with heavy gear oil. You'll be ok. (Later on check level and ''top-off'' if necessary).

HI, I am not sure what is wrong with my tractor sprinkler. It is like it has lost pressure, the arms do not turn as fast or spray out as much any more? It waters in a circle with just the outer 4

I would guess that the grease has gotten old. You need to open the motor unit, clean the old grease off the gears and use a light, non-petroleum grease on the gears.
I had gotten extra years out of my old one by doing this, but bit the bullet and replaced the motor this year. A new motor is currently $21.57 at the Nelson website.

Adjusting front wheels

Grease the zerks with a general grease, tighten any loose points, check your wheel bushings. They might be worn, causing the wheels to camber or off-toe.

Honda lawn tractor

There are very few, if any, grease points in the steering of any lawn tractor. Since I have no idea what model tractor you have, the best I can tell you is look for grease fittings on the main pivot points on the outer ends of the front axle and on the inside of the front wheels. You will only find 1 or 2 for each side.
If you are experiencing difficulty steering, the primary cause is improper inflation of the front tires. Maintain them at 14 PSI and you should find that it steers a lot easier

Check and service diff lube on ride on a victa lawn mower

You have to disassemble the diff if you want to clean out the old grease, But another way is to put a grease nipple on it. There are two types of grease used in these they are: Bentonite grease & graphite grease.

Grease fittings

You can drive the front tires up on a set of tire ramps and grease the front and then drive the rear tires up on the ramps and grease the rear.

OR just lay on the floor and reach under using a grease gun with a flexible delivery hose.

If you do use a jack just be sure to jack on the frame of the tractor as opposed to any sheet metal.

Hi. I have a 19.5 HP Sears Lawn Tractor, model # 917.270821. The problem I'm having is with the steering in that it has become increasingly more difficult to steer. I greased the two fittings with a tube...

jack up front of tractor and remove clip at top of spindle move steering wheel back and fourth to get spindle to slide down clean and grease then reassemble this will fix most of them unless you have a bushing priblem you will see when removed .
