Yes you can just drill holes to attach. I would drill the holes in the corner so you do not hit a water line though.
I would use a straight bracket that you can get a any hardware store though and just screw into the side of each unit.

There should be bolts that come with the pedestal, so you need to take the legs out of the washer …now lay it on its back then bolt the pedestal up to it and if the pedestal don’t have feet put the ones out of the washer on it .
