I buy most of my parts from Parts Source. I speak with Tamara there and she can usually get most things I need.

Burdick atria 6100 ecg machine is printing very faint prints each time i prin.

It's one of two things, either:

1) Your thermal printhead is dirty or going bad. Rub a pencil eraser over the printhead to clean it.

2) There's not enough pressure between the thermal printhead and the advancing assembly.

While printing, press the sliding door towards the unit, does the print get darker? If so, the mechanism might not be holding tight which indicates the clip may be damaged. If it stays light, clean the printhead with the eraser as mentioned earlier..

Where can I buy a cleaning kit for my Rimage perfect image thermal printer? thanks

They are available from most Rimage resellers, as well as direct from Rimage.

My company sells the printhead cleaning kits for the Everest II, III, and 600 and the PrismPlus printers - www.techwaredist.com or call 1-800-295-0083 and ask for Mike P.

Can the printer print with just a black ink cartridge?

The KODAK All-in-One Printer uses an advanced built-in printhead. The system is designed to provide excellent image and text quality, while eliminating the need to purchase new printheads every time you replace ink cartridges, and saving you money. The printing system requires that both the black and color ink cartridges be installed to print. If either cartridge is not installed or is out of ink, the printer or printhead will not print correctly.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response

Thanks, Joe

Need to chage printhead on SATO 408e Thermal Printer. Can this be done without a technician? Or best left to expert help? Many thanks for any help that can be offered.

Best to do a technician, because the printhead needs to be aligned and positioned for the type of label you use. A poor fit will cause the printhead and platen roller wear out prematurely.

X2000+: no thermal transfer options and Argobar Pro issues

netsrapcc:

I don't have an Arox printer or Argobar, but I've seen similar messages from other programs.

First, I'd open a file in Argobar and make sure that another printer has not been selected. If the printer name has changed since the file was saved, the program probably selected your default printer, with far different attributes (higher resolution, different fonts, no thermal options).

Also check the printers properties (probably under an "advanced" option) to make sure the driver is installed for the correct model. If your printer supports label sensing other than "Media with Gap", the driver should show other settings. If a label is fed consistantly to the same spot when you Form Feed, then your sensor is working. It might take two From Feeds - one to advance the leading eadge to the printhead and one to advance the trailing edge to the tear bar.

If you just installed XP SP3, you might need to re-install the driver. You can download from Argox, but I prefer Seagull drivers, at http://www.seagullscientific.com/aspx/thermal_printer_list.aspx#Argox . There are several +2000 models listed. These work with XP SP3. You should be able to set many attributes in the Proerties and Preferences.

Occasionally, one or two files may be saved incorrectly and become corrupted (but never ALL files). In these cases, it easier to start a new file, with the proper label size, and copy & paste (if your software lets you) from the old to the new. Once I get files working well, I always copy them to a another folder.

By the way, if you have already printed with Direct Thermal settings, but had a ribbon loaded, the print head has not been damaged. Direct Thermal should turn off the warning when the ribbon sensor doesn't find a ribbon, and probably changes some of the heat attributes to optimize for ribbonless printing, so the quality with a ribbon is decreased.

The printhead can be gently cleaned occasionally with 70% Isopropal Alchohol on a Qtip, but never touch the printhead with a hard object. One tap with a metal object while the printer is on would probably destroy that part of the printhead.

I hope this helps!
God bless,
Label Guy

Zebra 105Se missing line

Try cleaning the thermal printhead. Zebra makes thermal printhead cleaners or you can use a qtip and some isopropyl alcohol.

Make sure the printer is turned off before doing this.

Zebra 105se printhead issue

The controller thinks the printhead is still open. If it is open, close it.

If it's closed, it's likely that the sensor flag on the rear of the shaft has come loose and is no longer interrupting the photosensor. Remove the rear panel and inspect the flag while you move the printhead handle. The flag is supposed to be in the opening of the sensor when the printhead is closed and latched.
