I have about an 1/2 tear in the lip of the gasket there probably isn't any way to repair it. I know the right way is to replace it but $ is an issue. I was wondering about universal cement or somthing along those lines?

The instructions are as follows:--
1. Disconnect power from washer then remove the trim on top of the washer at the front (it is held on by three screws).
2. Remove the top by removing the three screws on the back.
3. Remove the soap dispenser.
4. Remove the control panel by removing the four screws on the top and one behind the soap dispenser. There are two clips on the inside right-hand corner of the case holding the control panel on you must press by reaching over the top to the inside.
5. Remove the bottom panel.
6. Open the door and remove the door latch by removing the three screws (don’t have to disconnect wires).
7. Using a screwdriver remove the wire clamp that holds the boot on in the front. This clamp is in the grove on the front of the boot.
8. Remove the front (door and all) by removing the four screws (one on each corner).
9. At the top of the boot there should be two hoses, slip the boot out from around the hoses.
10. Remove the bottom balance weight off the front of the tub. Note that this step is not necessary but will make the next step easier.
11. Loosen the screw clamp that holds the boot on at the back.
12. Once the clamp is loose, the boot should pull off.
13. Then resemble with new boot.
When reinstalling the new gasket there is a notch in the gasket that should line up with a arrow in on the tub. When reinstalling the gasket, be sure to properly install the hose.

Door on ge front loader washer leaks, door gasket is fine. Could it be the lock not working properly

Yes it could be the door lock not pulling the door in enough to make the seal. Solution... Remove covers and with door pressed in hard, ( You may need help ), adjust the lock mechanism to make seal. Put lock-tite on the threads after it works for you. This will prevent the shaking of the washer from losening of the nuts again.

GE Profile front loader washing machine is leaking front of door, believe the problem is the rubber washer ring, however can this be replaced?

Hello, this is usually the door seal, most machine incorporate a one piece combined door seal and outer drum seal(often just called a DOOR GASKET), the door seal are put in on the front panel first in the factory, then the drum assembly is put in and the seal pushed over the outer drum. This means a lot of stripping down has to be done just to replace the drum to the door seal.
Thanks

Getting what looks like mold on the front rubber seal/gasket

Front loaders do not dry out unless you leave the door open when not in use. Start leaving the door open and the mold will dry out and flake off. It will smell better also!

Stinky clothes

you should run a empty load with bleach but no detergent every month or so to clean the washer, I also recommend cleaning the boot (door gasket) every couple of loads with windex or other cleaner. also every load check inside the bottom of the boot and make sure the drain holes (x3) are clear of lint, etc. this is normal maintenance for any front loader. GE is a very good brand and is my preferred brand, I repair appliances everyday, Whirlpool keeps me busy. I have GE front loaders in my house.
2nd poster, you will need a door hinge for this most likely. Not too hard.

Replace rubber gasket

Replace the machine with a top loader and you'll never have a leaking gasket again! Worked at National Linen for a while and the floors had drains in them and were always wet! Needless to say the pros have the same problem you do! ;)

I have a GE front loader that leaks from the bottom, any ideas what it is from?

Is it coming from the front? You can take the bottom panel off and look inside. If the middle is not wet, it may be from a torn door gasket. Pull back the rubber seal on the machine (not the door) and you may see a big tear. That's what happened to ours. We ordered a new one on ebay and we are installing it now.

The rubber gasket around the tub fell off on front loader

Open the door and reinstall the bellows (door gasket) onto the door lip. The metal ring clamps the bellows to the door lip. Start in the groove at the top and work your way down the sides. The spring part goes on the bottom (be careful not to stretch it too much). An extra pair of hands could help.
Let me know if you need more assistance.
Good luck!
