this is called the Red Light Of Death it can be caused by the following
1.overheating
2. hardrive coruption or needs to be reset back into the system
3. the soldering on the motherboard of the console needs to be reflowed by a local repair shop that specialisez in PS3 gaming consoles
hope this gave you some information and good luck!
watch the lights on the front when you try to turn it on. If the blue light flashes yellow for a second, you have ahardware failure, so-called Yellow Light of Death. You can get the disc out by turning off the switch at the back, then hold down the eject button and turn the back button on again.
Try booting the system while holding the power on button. Hold the button and keep it held until it turns off. After the system shuts off, try turning it on normally. Let me know if this helps.
I had a similar problem with my xbox 360. Reconnect all cords that are in the back of the xbox. If that doesn't work the best thing to do is call microsoft.
sounds like there is a problem with your heat sync. If you still have a warranty send it to sony, If you dont i can fix for a fee. email [email protected] for more information.
I don't know how to turn the system back on yet, but i can get your disk out.
Turn the PS3 off by the switch on the back, hold down the eject button whilst the PS3 is still off, then (whilst still holding the eject button) turn the PS3 back on by the switch on the back. You should hear the fan start up and the disk pop out.
