Your answer came at the perfect time! My Pastor just walked in. It's his phone. He said to go ahead and replace it (thanks to your recomendation.)

My question is this. This phone is one of two cordless models that go with our ECX1000 system installed two years ago in our church office and rectory. If I order the new model cordless, the INT1400 (found on the web for $310.00) do I have to have a service company install it in order for it to work with all the features of the ECX1000? i.e. add on another couple hundred dollars????

    We'll give it a try.

FYI we did replace the phone with a new one and it was simply plug and play. However, I just wanted you to know that the prices for the Intel cordless ranged from $280 to $310.00. This is an upgraded cordless for the ECX phone system and actually has a lot of improvements over the original. This one actually works with the system i.e. you can use a lot of the system features. The first one was simply a cordless phone - no transfer capabilities. etc. Thanks for the help.

The most likely cause of this problem is the small amplifier inside the phone is failing due to a defective part, these cordless phones are considered throw away consumer electonics, it is always cheaper to just replace the phone, the average repair cost is about $60.00.

Cordless handset. Why can't callers hear me?

normally, it is because the Mute button is pressed, but you say they can hear you, but not very loud? Make sure the bottom of the phone is close to your mouth. Look in the mirror. Also find the volume setting on the phone, and turn it up full. This is generally accessed via and options button, scroll through until you find 'Volume' and then press the up arrow.

HOW CAN I TURN UP THE VOLUME ON HANDSET. VOLUME IS SO LOW CALLERS CAN NO HEAR ME

There is no outgoing (microphone) volume control, if it is only your set try the handset from different extension. The microphone element may have been damaged (especially if dropped) and have to be replaced. Replacement handsets are not hard to find. If everyone on your system claims that callers cannot hear them, there are some settings on the central switch (KSU) which might help, but only after ruling out a problem on your particular set.

Speaker not working

Your explanation of the problem is not too clear.
If you receive a call and you cannot hear your caller but your caller can hear you, your speaker is bad and will need to be replaced buy phone technician.
If it is that you can hear your caller but they cannot hear you, then your mouth piece is bad and need to be replaced.

Volume control

Dear lowis

Check weather it requires an external power, if it requires then u need to supply it, else if it doesnt require an external power then it is the settings at the subscriber end, which we can not do anything unless we request or complain them. And it is not the fault with the instrument. But note that the instrument mechanism could be designed with a low amplification which means it has poor circuit.
