The main problem might be a big problem with the disk tray. There might be an faulty wire that has lost connection and if your disk wont event turn on, there might be a problem with the power supply that supplies the cd tray. If the disk opens and closes but doesnt read and wont say tray is in and keeps saying open tray, there might be a small fracture on some of the wires or there is something wrong with the motherboard of the xbox 360. The best way is to buy the warrenty now and send it to the xbox 360.
I had the exact same problem with my copy of Call of Duty : black ops, it however it wouldn't load certain maps. There are two basic solutions to this problem.
Many Tech / Game stores now offer a service referred to as resurfacing disks, basically as the name suggests it makes the surface of your game disk just like new again and is relatively cheaper than buying a new copy of the game (less than ten dollars).
Option two, which can be free (yay!) providing that you have a friend who has the same game, borrow the game off him and copy it to your hard drive, so that when you go to play the game ( you still need to insert the disk ) but your xbox reads all the game data from the hard drive on the xbox and not from your damaged disk.
"
Load the disk into your Xbox 360 console and go to your Xbox 360 console
Scroll down to My Xbox
Scroll across to Game Library and hit the A button
This should put you on the Recent Games window and your game should
be highlighted, so you should just need to hit the A button. Otherwise,
scroll to the Recent Games window and choose the game.
On the game screen, choose Install to Hard Drive. This process
should take a few minutes, but once it is complete, you'll be able to
enjoy improved performance."
I recommend clearing your system cache. To do this go to My Xbox > System Settings > Memory, highlight your storage disk, press Y and select "clear cache." Try to run the disk again. If the Xbox is still failing to properly read the disk I suggest bringing it to a gaming store near you and have them put a new drive in it. This is most definitely a hardware error, and has nothing to do with your disks.
You need to clean the disk. If it is clean just try to put the game in a couple more times then it might work. If you still have the reciet you can go to the game store where you bought it and they will replace it.
you re going to need a new disk drive i had the same problem and called 18004myxox and they said its a bad disk drive and would cost 100.00 to fix so i went and bought a new 360 insteadf
Does this problem only happen with this disk?
If it only happens to that one, then the disk may be dirty or broken.
If it happens to all of your disks, your console's "eye" (disk reading device) may need repair. If this is the case, you should contact 1-800-4MY-XBOX.
make sure ur eye thing under the disk tray that reads the disk is not dirty or damaged. also make sure ur lazer lenz is also clean. try going to xbox.com for more solutions cause i have same problem
