There's a lot pf possibilities that the video wont load
1. is your memory module good?
2. are you using an onboard vga? if not then try cleaning the metal part on your video card.
3. will your bios speaker beep if you took out the memory and tried to start the computer. If not then too bad you got a bad bios.

A friend is having trouble starting up her computer and she has asked you to help. When you turn the system on, the video display comes on and you hear the disk drive spinning. Several screens display and...

It could be a number of things. Most computers are programmed with sequenced beeps, ie one long beep....cmos battery low, two short beeps...hard drive error, etc. Like Mr. Hubbard requested, I will need pc manufacturer and model number to provide accurate troubleshooting information to your friend.

Why does my syncmaster932b stays black? it happen all of a suden

There are a few reasons which can cause the monitor not to power on,you should check the connection from the monitor to the computer to see if its properly connected.Make sure the power button is on,if you hear any beeps you should check the memory by listening for beeps if you hear if you hear three to four short beeps this mean the computer has memory problem. And if the video card is bad you can get eight beeps, if all of these parts are working fine you should check the bulb inside the monitor because it me need to be replace.

The desktop won't reboot. The power light stays yellow. I hear a fan running, but the monitor says no signal.

If your fan runs and the hard drive spins up, then you have a video card problem.
I'd do this: Disconnect everything inside the case but the CPU, memory, and video. Now try to boot. Also observe the fan on the CPU--does it spin?
If this fails, then your video has probably gone bad. Also--does your computer usually give you a "beep" when it starts up? If so, is it giving you a beep now? If not, you're failing the hardware startup test (POST).
So, your problem may be the video card. If your video is part of the motherboard, then you need to replace the motherboard.

System not booting

Try power cycling the laptop by taking the battery out and pressing the power button 10 times. On the 10th time, hold it down for 10 seconds. Put the battery back in and attempt to boot the laptop.

If that doesn't work, listen for a cooling fan when you attempt to boot the laptop. If you don't hear the fan, it's likely that the motherboard is malfunctioning somewhere.

Do you hear any beep codes when you try to turn it on? Here is a list of beep codes for reference:

No Beeps: Short, No power, Bad CPU/MB, Loose Peripherals
One Beep: Everything is normal and Computer POSTed fine
Two Beeps: POST/CMOS Error
One Long Beep, One Short Beep: Motherboard Problem
One Long Beep, Two Short Beeps: Video Problem
One Long Beep, Three Short Beeps: Video Problem
Three Long Beeps: Keyboard Error
Repeated Long Beeps: Memory Error
Continuous Hi-Lo Beeps: CPU Overheating
Hope this helps! Good luck!

if you hear no beeps when you boot, you probably just have a bad video card or monitor, or your monitor cable may have come loose....answer back...

Mother board no display

Looks like the lights are on? Fans spin? Sounds like the harddrives spinning? The power supply is bad. has just enough power to light lights, and spin fans, but not enough for the processor. (No beep sounds, because BIOS hasn't done a memory count. It's not going to)

ALL the lights use less than 1 Watt.
EACH fan uses 2 to 3 Watts.
The harddrive just sitting there spinning, uses about 5 watts.

Processors use 55 Watts to 125 Watts. Depends on the processor.
Not enough power to turn the processor on, the computer won't work. Computer isn't working there isn't anything to turn the monitor on. No Signal.

Motherboard Problem

Were all these working fine together before or did you just replace something? Did you try connecting the monitor to another PC? Try the pc on another monitor which works. try unplugging the video card and plugging it back in. try without the memory, it should post and beep looking for the memory. try without the harddrive.
