I have a 36in DCS range: my broiler does not ignite(lights up)no flame. Tried cleaning around it,nothing seems to work. Do I need a replacement part? If so who would look at it? It is 9 years old. Is it worth fixing? Please help!

Most likely it needs a new hot surface ignitor, which is normal wear and tear. Can cost you around $200-400, depending on where you live.

We have a dcs 48 inch range/oven and the main oven does not heat. The broiler does and the small side oven heats. Any advice?

You don't say if it lights up! If it lights up and stays on low it's the thermostat that's at fault, they are not adjustable and will need to be replaced.

DCS CT365SS igniter wires?

no not standard. but you can replace them if you know a good place to buy high temp wires. If not buy the upper wire harness for the range and the igniter wires will be in that.

How to relight the pilot light?

There is an easy way to relight a pilot light in an oven/broiler if you do not have long fireplace matches and you are scared to stick your arm in with a regular lighter: Light a long stick of incense, but do not blow out the flame. Open the broiler door. Turn the oven to "broil" and extend the lit incense stick in \to the back of the broiler space. Wave the incense stick slowly back and forth below the broiler coil towards the rear of the oven until you hear the pilot light ignite, then pull the incense stick out, blow out the flame and insert into an incense holder.

DCS range igniter won't stop

Hey all ... I just had a repairman fix my DCS cooktop that was doing the same thing ... ignitor problem. He replaced it and it's good as new. (Cleaning also did NOT work for me.) It cost me $216 for the repair. If you can find the part, it's pretty easy to replace. Just take off the front knobs (be careful as there is a 'ring' inside the neck of the knob) and unscrew the front. You will need a special screwdriver - looks like a star - but just snip the plastic straps holding the original ignitor in place and put the new one on the same way as the old one. You should be good as new. REMEMBER TO TURN OFF THE BREAKER!!! I can't imagine it would take more than an hour (tops) 'cause it looked pretty easy.

DCS Range Ignition problem

I agree with two of the reviews here. Every so often after a good cleaning, or most recently after some oil spilled over, I had a burner that wouldn't light. All of them clicked, but the one I wanted didn't light. So after reading the above posts, I unscrew the hex nut, removed the shimmer ring, and cleaned it, and mopped up a bunch of oil under where the ring sits. Put everything back together and lit it manually. After 30 secs of flame I shut it down and tried to light it automatically. It worked! Looks like, thanks to some folks here, that I saved myself an annoying phone call and possible repair bill!
