Question about ASUS Computers & Internet
There are lots of ways to run a PC faster, combine them all and you'll have an easier time.
Empty the \Windows\Temp\
Empty the \Windows\Prefetch
Empty your user History and Local Settings\Temp folders
Careful now - Right Click My Computer, Manage, Services and Disable Computer Browser and MSM (if you don't use it) and set Automatic Updates to manual. DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING ELSE unless you know exactly what you are doing. Each PC/user has different requirements which have to be custom addressed beyond these 3 things.
In your screen settings, Display Properties, Appearance, Effects, remove all the ticks, they all slow the PC down
Stop processes in Task Manager: Ctrl Alt Del, Right click alg.exe, click End Process. It should automatically end after startup, but it doesn't.
Start, Run, Msconfig, Startup tab, Untick items you don't use. You don't usually want things to start here, except maybe your antivirus, bluetooth and wireless. Now go to the BOOT.INI tab and change the timeout on the right to 3. (Speeds up boot time)
Download and run all of these one at a time:
Little Registry Cleaner
When you run any of these and it asks you if you want to backup first, ALWAYS select YES.
And before you do any of these things, make a full backup of the data that you couldn't bear to lose.

Well a number of things will ensure your system runs fast however like most things your PC will need a MOT every 2 years i.e. a full reformat
However you can do the following to ensure your PC does not slow down
1) Dont visit any sites you are suspicious off as they will install malware and viruses will slow your PC right down
2) Dont install unecessary programs - only install prgrams you will use time and time again as others will install themselves in startup thus slowing down your startup times
3) You can install more RAM this will speed up the applications- ensure you get the right RAM for your motherboard and is installed by a professional
4) install a good free firewall and antivirus software like AVG or commodo to ensure you dont accumulate bad data
Hope this helps
