I have a riello burner 40 it will fire and come to temp but wont refire, goes into lockout

My first guess would be that it sounds like a clogged oil filter, air in your fuel line, is piping overhead, or leak in a fitting or connection causing it to loose it's prime when running.

I have also seen primary controls that are faulty do this, watching the complete cycle of the run time will give you more clues as to when the control actually locks out. Does it lock out during the run cycle as the boiler reaches temp.? If so,check for oil line and suction issues as stated above.

If it locks out on start up after reaching boiler set temperature, if hitting reset right away burner doesn't start and lock out occurs with no motor engaging, check motor (Note: Some motors when HOT will not kick in when powered, but after they cool down naturally they start, motor shaft may also be bound up tight, replacement is necessary) if burner motor spins but does not fire, check for fuel flow to the nozzle, be sure oil is pumping to the nozzle, if it is, clean cad cell eye, and check transformer for spark, if all is good.. replace primary control.

Disclaimer:
Of course all this information is technical troubleshooting information and should be performed by a Licensed Technician, not knowing how to properly test for flame failure can cause injury, fire or worse! Consult a technician in your area if you are not proficient at oil burner repair!

Water seems to be leaking from the top lid of my ge water heater

Make sure any water valves (Cold or Hot) for water heater are not leaking first. Gate valves may leak at the packing nut over time and drip on top of tank. If water is leaking from the top of the water heater itself the tank is corroded and water heater will need to be replaced.

Leaking at welded fitting on tank? can i jb weld around the fitting

Many have tried same, and only a few have been successful, and at best, only temporarily. Believe it or not, I had 3 do the exact same thing last year, corroded right through the meaty part of the fitting, where you would think would be the last place it would eat through. Being in the RV Service trade, I only want to have to fix it once, and don't want to be responsible for any future floods when away from unit so I replace the tank. I've seen some wild fixes over the years, such as a piece of thick rubber hose over the pinhole with a gear clamp (hose clamp) tightened over it to stop the leak, and it was actually working to stop the leak. Your choice, your gamble, but if you decide to try a quick fix, I'd make real sure I shut the pump or city water supply off when your not going to be close by or in the trailer for any amount of time just in case. Hate to come back from a walk and see water running out the door of the trailer. Good Luck.

Hello, i have a reliance 606 im having a problem that the reset button, it keep on tripping. when i reset it last like 2 days then it trips again. i have changed the upper thermostat and element and it...

It sounds like you have things pretty well covered. I would change reset and if it continues to trip breaker I would check wiring very carefully where it enters top of water heater. Check for any nicks or bare spots on wiring insulation. Other than that about all I can think of is to change breaker. Sometimes they do get weak and trip to easily. Hope this helps. Thanks

There are reports that elements on the Marathon cause problems.
This comes from the guys who repair water heaters.
But I think the problems are mostly that the elements burn out frequently and are expensive to replace.
There may be other brand-specific problems I'm not aware of

Another thing you can do is put an expansion tank on the incoming cold water line.
Expansion tank is used when water heater temperatures are set high
The expansion tank absorbs pressure during high-heat events so pipes and tanks and pressure valves last longer.

My Rheem hot water tank just started leaking alot of water from underneath im looking for any advice on what the problem could be also how to obtain a copy of the user manual Thanks Kelly

If it's leaking at the bottom of the tank, this is usually an indication that the tank has rusted through.
It's most likely time to replace.
Make sure it's coming from the tank by looking in where the pilot light is... with a flashlight..

2 things to check one to make sure you are not picking air from tank dis-connect the inlet side only of the feed and rig you a hose or copper tubing inserted into a gallon can or bucket full of oil , try to run off this must bleed as before if it does pulling air from tank , if not and while bleeding you get the same on load sound from the motor then check this , between the motor and the pump there is what is called a boot coupling that transfers power from the motor to the pump most of these are rubber and with time and heat will sometime allow the drive in the ends to rotate internally cheap part usually $9 before replacing hold the old one against the new mark and cut the exact length as the old one , match the end you need with the same end that come off old one as these kits come various parts for different hookups , also a leak in the line will also cause same symptoms ck as much of the line as possible for damage , try these and get back with results and if no fix will try to assist further
