I would get to an exhaust shop and have them check your catalytic converter.

why not get it serviced?
why not use a scan tool (1996+) and see if there are stored or live
DTC errors. (tops list)
A/T issues.?
a technician can tell you if the engine lacks power or the trans is failing.
The transmission will never use OD if the engine lacks power.
or the transmission or engine are stuck on limphome mode.

The TPS most be calibrated, ever seen the FSM book
the factory service manual> if set wrong idle speeds will wrong.

that which is stripped is bad, replace object stripped, the TB.?
the "Throttle body" or re-tap it or heli-coil it.

Test 1: done i 3 seconds flat
see FSM , see Trans, chapter.
see the stall tests. does that pass, parked, hot engine.?
that be first. if not , we work that first.

Sounds to me like you have a hydraulic lever or pedal open and its dead heading against a closed port. Possibly to an attachment line. I'm not sure about the JCB on this, but if you can put other attachments on the unit, there has got to be an actuating lever or pedal to open the attachment lines for actuation.

run fault codes to find the sensor putting on the engine light.

fuel pressure should be 34 - 38 psi.fuel pump could be failing.

The problem you are having sounds suspiciously like the torque converter is not disengaging to allow your engine to spin freely until you are ready to accelerate.If when decelerating or coming to a stop you feel a jerking sensation similar to driving a vehicle with a manual transmission and bringing the vehicle to a stop without depressing the clutch, then the problem you are having is faulty Torque Converter Control Solenoid or a bad Torque Converter itself. two totally unrelated problems. brakes need to be checked for thickness asap. engine sounds like fuel starvation problem( pump pressure, filter,)
