I am trying to reinstall my Palm Pilot Tungsten E2. My techs at the university recently disassociated my laptop from the university system and made me "local." So I cannot sync my Palm because it still thinks that it's tied into the university network. I have downloaded the version recommended by Palm (PalmDesktopWin414EN). When I go to install it, I get the message that a higher version is already installed and it closes the installation wizard and won't let me reinstall. Which version should I download? It would be helpful if I could talk to a person, but I can't seem to find any way to get to a real person. Thanks, Donna Morris

First off, you must be an administrator of your computer to add/remove software. The techs at your university had to have been administrators to remove the computer from the network so they will know if they made your new account an administrator. They can also give you administrative rights if you don't have them.

Now that you have administrative rights, open Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs. Locate your Palm software and uninstall it. Restart the computer and you should be able to install your current Palm software.

I hope this helps.
