1 Answer

I turned the printer off when we left yesterday, so the ans. machine would take the calls. But when I try to turn it back on it just says "busy try latter" What am I doing wrong. It's a brother L C 61 series, and says M f C 295 C N on it. I've looked for the book that came with it but can't find it. Help---glkd@sbcglobal.net

I called the Brother company, and they walked me through it. I first had to unplug the printer, then I noticed the phone conection was also loose. When I took care of those 2 things it worked fine. Thanks anyway.

Hi,

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Lost power and now does not turn on. Verified power to the outlet. Could the power supply be shot?

Yes, But before you buy a power supply. Unplug the machine from all power for no LESS then 30 minutes. It can reset the power supply. But you must have the machine unplugged for at least a half an hour.
If you need a new power supply google a business called The Parts Drop and call them.
They are the best in the business for Xerox parts.
No I dont work for them. But do business with them and they are great.

Sounds like a bad low voltage power supply.
You can google a business called The Parts Drop and contact them.

L 6 code flashing

That is a laser fault. Normally the motor that turns the mirrors in the laser assembly is failing.
You can also try this. take the back off the machine, there is a ribbon cable attached to the main board that I have seen unplugging and re connecting resolves an L6.
about the best price I have seen on that laser is about $300.
Google a business called "the parts drop". You can look up the part and price there. Honestly, that is one heck of a job replacing that laser. You pretty much have to split the machine in half to replace it.

Can't make copies

I had the same problem just yesterday. Turn off the printer for 10 seconds. Then turn back on. Turn back off again and unplug from the electrical outlet. Open the control panel and tilt it toward you. Close the control panel, plug machine back into the outlet and turn back on. I did this and it solved my problem.

Warm up mode error

There is a problem with the fuser thermistor in that machine.
You can replace the fuser module you can try looking up on google a business called 'The parts drop" call and see if they can sell you just a thermistor. That's not an uncommon problem. Some of those fusers were made with intermittent thermistors.
Also, you can go into the machine setup and turn the power save OFF. A new machine will come with the power save set to 5 minutes and it will make you crazy.

Canon mp530

As best I can tell from the User's Guide (available here if you don't have it), page 146, 5100 is a Service Error indicating that the print head is blocked/can't move. Remove power from the machine, open the top and check carefully inside to see if there are any pieces of paper or other items which may be blocking the print head from moving back and forth.

If you still have the same error after reapplying power, the unit probably needs to be serviced. You can use this link to find an authorized service facility near you. Give them a call and see if they can give you an estimate for repair.

Semper Fi Devildog, and good luck.

Getting an error L flashing then 1

Background:
The L1 is indicating a scanner lock.

Easy way to fix it:
1. Turn machine off.
2. Turn scan locking switch to unlock. This is a clear plastic knob. (it is located on the left hand side of the machine under the document glass in the copy exit area - check your manual for a picture of it around page 9 or so).
3. Turn machine back on.
4. Try a copy.
5. If you still get an L1 then it might need service because the scanning bar is jammed. They will ask you to try some service codes first to verify that it is indeed jammed. Call 1800 237-4277 for further support.

Followup:
This also is a fix if you are getting blank copies.
