About Graphics and Video Card Drivers: Graphics and video Card Drivers serve as an interpreter between your Windows operating system and the Graphics and Video Card. In other words, these Drivers allow Windows to communicate with the Graphics and Video Card installed on your computer.
Most of the Graphics and Video Card Driver errors occur when the required Driver is missing, corrupt, or outdated.
Common Graphics and Video Card Driver problems: In case of a Graphics and Video Card Driver related error, your operating system will not be able to access or make best use of the functionality of your graphics or video card.

Below are the four most common Driver error codes and their meaning:

Error 1 - Reinstall the drivers for this device. (Code 18)
Meaning - The required driver is configured incorrectly or outdated.
Error 2 - This device is not configured correctly. (Code 1)
Meaning - The required driver is configured incorrectly or is missing.
Error 3 - The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)
Meaning - The required driver is not installed on your computer.
Error 4 - This device cannot start. (Code 10)
Meaning - Usually, this error means that the required driver is outdated.
How do I fix Graphics and Video Card Driver problems?

Roll back to the previously installed Driver

Device Manager, an inbuilt utility in Windows, allows you to troubleshoot common driver-related errors. For instance, you may sometimes start experiencing driver related problems after you have updated it. To resolve the issue, you can roll back to a previously installed driver. To do this in Windows 7/Vista, perform the following steps:
  1. - Open the Control Panel window and double-click Device Manager
  2. - Double-click Display Adapters to view all devices under it
  3. - Double-click the device that is causing the problem
  4. - Click the Driver tab
  5. - Click the Roll Back Driver button and follow the onscreen instructions

Scan your computer using a Driver Update Tool

While Windows does provide an interface through which users can fix driver-related errors, the fact is that all driver-related issues cannot be resolved efficiently via Device Manager. Another fact is that resolving driver issues manually is a tedious affair. Also, you need to be proficient with Windows to carry out such a task.
On the other hand, driver management tools present no such problems. With just a click of the mouse, a driver management program scans your entire computer, identifies all installed hardware devices, and updates drivers for the identified devices

Computer screen resolution won't stay

Either your graphics card is not able to support the resolution or you need to update the graphics driver.

Remember to click apply and then ok when setting the resolution.

Update the graphics driver by visiting the Nvidia or AMD website, depending on the maker of your graphics card. Then serach for the driver using the model name of your card.

If you are using onboard graphics from the mainboard then you will need to find the grapics driver on the mainboard manufactures website.

Take care!

I can't change my screen res.when i do it go's all white.

Corey_newf_2,
You may need to update the drivers for your graphics card.
To do this, you can find the graphics card you are using. This can be found in the drop down box where you are able to change the resolution on your PC. It would be best to know what the graphics card brand and model is. Example would be Brand: Nvidia Model: GeForce 8600 or Brand: ATI Model: Radeon x1600
Go to the brand names webpage, or do a google search for BRAND drivers (or just update your question with the brand and model and I can find it for you)
Download the driver for your brand and model.
Install the driver as you would any other thing you would install.
Reboot your PC
Try to set your resolution again.

Cheers, Garbanian

I formate my system windowsxp2003 then i instal windows7 but i have screenresolition problem we want to change screen setting how can i get screen setting

After reinstalling windows you need to reinstall the drivers for your graphics card as well. If you know the make and model of the graphics card in your PC then simply go to the manufacturers website and download the most recent version of the drivers that you require.

I downloaded a game and told me that my graphic card needs to be updatedm, how do i update it?

Depending on the exact text of the message, you need to either update the drivers, or you need a newer graphics card. To update the drivers, go to the graphics card manufacturer's website and download/install the latest driver. If the graphics card itself needs to be replaced, you will need to purchase a new graphics card (check the game requirements for the type/make/model card that will work), then install it to your computer. If you already have a graphics card, it's merely a matter of replacing it with the new one and installing the drivers/software that came with it. If it's built in to the motherboard, you will need to install the graphics card, install drivers, then disable the onboard in the bios (check your computer documentation for how to access the bios, typically it will be holding the del key when you see the pc manufacturer's splash screen on boot). If you don't want to get that in depth, most computer stores will do the installation/configuration for you if you purchase the graphics card from them.

L350 235 developed lines on the screen

Update the driver first. If that doesn't clear the lines you will need to have the screen or computer serviced. This is a physical flaw in either the Graphics card or the screen.

If you would have listed the model & manufacture of your graphics card or if the graphics card is built into the board the (Model number of the motherboard)
Or if the graphics card has been added to your system, (The name of card & model number).
Finding an answer for your problem would go a bit faster & be more accurate.

If your graphics card is built into your motherboard or if the graphics card is installed into an AGP/PCI or PCI-E port, you'll need to uninstall your graphics driver software. The error message you posted; (Your display driver created a problem). One or more driver files are most likely corrupt.
To correct this you will need to open windows control panel. Than open the icon, Add/Remove programs. Find your graphics driver software & uninstall it. After which windows will want to restart.
(Do so). When windows finishes loading re-install the driver software for your graphics card. (Your graphics driver software should be on a CD).
Than restart windows, even if windows does not ask you too. When windows finishes loading again. Load windows update service. Click the start button, slide your mouse to All Programs, than slide to & click on Windows update. Install any updates windows finds.
(Do not install windows explorer version 8.0) Too many bugs in version 8.0.
While on windows update site look to the left. If you see that windows also has hardware updates, include these in the update process. (Restart your system when downloading is finished or if windows request it).
Lastly, before you try playing a game download & run this free program named RegCure. (This program will clean your system from left over junk& non needed files).
Click on the link below to download RegCure;

If you still receive en error message or if your game locks up/ freezes, provide the information I mentioned above so I can better help find a fix.

Cheers!

Monitor screen freeze with driver...

hi! you don't need to update the driver cause the problem is in your hardware. Graphic seems to be a bit grounded, try cleaning the contact pins of your AGP graphic card with eraser, clean it side by side and then put it back again to an AGP slot, then boot your CPU again. If it still the same, try it in another motherboard that support you graphic card just to be sure before we conclude that its the graphic card has the problem. Anyway if it still under warranty you can claim for a replacement to the store where you bought the graphic card.  Have a nice day!
