Question about Kodak EasyShare C713 Digital Camera
If you can view photos from the camera's memory then the camera shutter is likely stuck in the closed position. Some owners have reported a "fix" by firmly tapping the camera on a solid surface, but that can also cause more damage.
If the screen is always black, the display itself is the likely culprit, and it will need to be replaced.
Either problem can be repaired, and I suggest that you take the camera to a local Kodak dealer (INOT the camera department at a chain store) or contact Kodak customer service via the Kodak.com web site to arrange repairs. Be sure to get a firm price, not just an estimate, before you commit. The cost of the fix can easily approach the cost of a new camera, and repairs typically only carry a 30-day warranty.
