On the bottom right-hand side of the washer, there should be a door that contains the drain cleanout. Open the door and in the upper right-hand corner of the opening, there should be the end of a plastic handle. It may barely be showing, so look closely. Pull it down with your fingers or a plyers and your door should release.

Solution 1: leave door open when not in use and run enzyme cleaner like affresh, or 2 cups of distilled vinegar weekly until smell is gone. Solution 2: Most of the front load waahers have a manual door lock release. This is usually accessed by removing the bottom front cover and reaching up to the door latch assembly, to pull onrelease cord/plastic ring. If door locks stuck again, you will need to replace the door lock/latch assembly.
Yes. There will be a bit of water in the tray. The best thing to do is empty the water out either into the washer or a sink. Then leave the tray drawer open as well as the washer door open. Mold can develop on front load washers just like it can with top loaders. Leaving the drawer and door open to dry will help to prevent this.
