Hmmm...sounds like the connections are fine. mayhaps you have a major component failure, like uP?

"Keeps switching off 2 seconds after pressing power button"

It is doing what it is supposed to do but most computers take about 13 seconds to power off. as far as the rest you could have a bad motherboard change the laptop.

It would appear from what you say, there is a short on the motherboard. This can cause the adapter to shut down, which it is suppose to do. Unless there is an object in the laptop, the motherboard is damaged and must be repair/replaced.

No power comes to the laptop..what could be the issue? dont see any lights lighting up...

Hi,

First: Pull out the battery and try to power it on with the AC adapter only
Second: If that doesn't work check the power Jack, sometimes it gets deattach from the Motherboard, you may need to diassembly your laptop
Third: If you find no problems there, then it may be the video card: for this you need to reflow the motherboard. A local computer shop may be able to do it. if it's too expensive you may be better buying a new laptop

I have a dell Inspirion 9400 and it won't start. When I press the power button, all that happens is the power light and the dvd player light comes on and about 3 seconds it turns off. Does it with and...

It shows no power on your laptop but it shows you the dvd player led comes on then off. I would suggest try the following:
1. Remove laptop battery, optical drive, hard drive and ram. Remove external peripherals as well. 2. Make sure AC Adapter is not yet connected to the laptop. Press and hold on the laptop's power button for 10 seconds to drain the power flea. 3. Connect the AC Adapter to a known good power outlet, check AC Adapter power LED if it is on. Try to sense if AC Adapter is not making a bit of noise when it is plugin to the wall power outlet. 4. Connect now the AC Adapter to the laptop. Check if AC Adapter LED stays on when it is connected to the laptop. If the LED stays on means the AC Adapter is fine. If the AC Adapter LED turned off check the AC Adapter pin that goes to the laptop AC socket if it is loose. 5. If AC Adapter stays on after connecting to the laptop try to power on laptop. If no power LED comes on then this is motherboard problem. 6. Before replacing the motherboard there is one checking needs to do. If you can open your laptop bottom part then good, do this when laptop is not connected to any power source. Try to reseat the laptop CMOS battery then try to power on laptop after, if still fails then replace motherboard. I hope this helps.

Problem with Biostar P4M800-M7A Motherboard

The motherboard isn't the problem, it seems something is conflicting with another thing. If your using IDE (the buttload of pins on a thin long cord) you might need a cord that has 2 wires that go to the same pin. They usually are faster anyways. Get a new set of IDE cables then. Or your ram is malfunctioning and you need some new sticks of some. The last ones could be that your processor is fried and well you figure that one.

Hi,
According to me, you should check your power adapter. I think it is not working and is not producing sufficient power supply for your laptop. And due to this, your laptop have not been charging.

Dell Latitude C610 Laptop won't turn on

If the light comes on for three seconds and then go out ,generally means a power distrubution problem . remove the optical drive and memory from the system and try powering it on. If u get the same result , its time to take it to service tech , as your motherboard needs to be checked
