Hello my friend. This is means that your hard disk is corrupted, has bad sectors. If you can boot at all to run the disk diagnostic program then your hard drive is dead and you must replace it.Is not difficult to replace it.Usually if you turn your computer you will see a small cover with screws, there is your disk and you can take it off and go to a shop and buy another one similar.Usually is 2.5inches and you choose the capacity you want.

Primary hardself test shows failed hard disk 1 (warranty id-error code 10008). it runs until it's 95% complete. however i have absolutely no problems with my computer/laptop. very confusing.

Your hard disk has a damaged area. Apparently this is close to the end of the storage area. Since there are no software in that area, you will have no problem. (Because the OS not trying to access any files in the damaged area).
Try not to fill the hard disk more than 80%. If files are written in the damaged area, you will experience problems with your laptop.

My laptob gives me error code 10008 when i turn it on what could i do ?

Glad to HELP YOU!

Usually that error [code 10008] appears when the hard drive has a SERIOUS PROBLEM!...
If your laptop [by the way... it's LAPTOP and not "LAPTOB"...] is under the warranty conditions get your hard drive replaced. If not - then buy a new hard drive for your machine.
A good and reliable hard drive is under $100 these days.

Go on Google [or any other search engine ] and check for a HARD DRIVE DIAGNOSTIC UTILITY; I've found for you a few HERE.
Download it, install it and run a test. It might be not only the HDD with problems; it could be some other components of the motherboard that might generate a hard drive failure...

GOOD LUCK!

Erroor code 10008

According to Compaq tech support. That error code of 10008 indicates the hard drive has failed and should be replaced. I would recommend contacting HP/Compaq and finding out your warranty status. If it is still covered under warranty, they can replace the drive with a new one. You will need to contact them to find that out.

Hi!My laptop (HP G7000)can not boot, currently when I diagnose the hard disk using "BIOS Hard Disk Self Long test" I get this message"Failed - replace Hard Disk 1 (warranty ID - error code 10008". What...

Your hard disk has indeed failed, this is not an indication of a spyware problem. Your best bet, if the laptop is under warranty, is to contact HP for a replacement hard drive.

If, however, your are out of warranty or would prefer to do it yourself, it appears your laptop has a 2.5" SATA hard drive. You don't need a huge one, your failed hard drive was probably between 80-160GB. Do not get a hard drive with a PATA/IDE interface, or a 3.5" hard drive, as these will neither work nor fit in your computer.

There are several screws on the bottom of your laptop. You will not likely need to remove the entire laptop case, and many times the bottom of the laptop is labeled with icons or a description of the component beneath the panel in question. When you replace the hard drive, pay attention to the orientation of the old hard drive, as well as where any different size screws were placed.

Finally, you will need to restore your computer with a set of disks. As you will be replacing your hard drive, any restore partition that was previously on your computer will have been lost.

Please let me know if you have any other questions related to this issue. Thanks!

Asi gave mine laptop compaq c700 pc notebook to hp service centre for check up. they told me that there is a hard disk problem .so the problem was "HDD test fail & check with another HDD.& all...

Only Hp knows what that means in their diags. Get it shipped back and take it to a Locally owned PC shop and have them take a look at it. It is possible that you have just enough file fragmentation and file structure corruption that it is fail diags. Why did you take it in to be looked at anyways?

Error message: Failed- Replace Hard Disk 1 (Warrany ID error code 10008) what does this mean I have a compaq Presario A900

It means that Hard Disk 1, which is either the first or second harddisk in the laptop, has failed. First open the BIOS on your latop. Before windows startup there should be a Compaq logo on screen. There also is some text saying which key to press to access BIOS. In BIOS, try opening some menus and look for a menu that shows your disk drive. In the same menu should be your harddisk. If it is there, go to A. If not, go to B. A: The disk is not broken, it just made a write error that destroyed WIndows. Insert the disk with your operating system on it into the laptop, and reinstall it. Your data is gone, but the laptop will work. If reinstalling the OS gives errors, and is unable to complete, go to B. B: Your harddisk is broken. There is no way to fix it, and you will need a new one. Contact Compaq if your warranty is still valid, and if not, take it to the nearest computer shop and ask for a new harddisk. If you have any more questions or trouble just post back here. I hope this helps, Yannick

A disk read error occurred press Ctrl Alt Del to restart...But when I do this it wont restart...I did a start up check and its telling me the following...FAILED,REPLACE HARD DISC 1, WARRANTY ID, ERROR...

The hard disk drive has failed and needs replacement. If this system is under warranty, contact HP

If not, then you can buy a replacement HDD from retailers like NewEgg.COM

I checked the HP spare parts page, their prices are quite high. Here is an example of a good value:
