Getting and keeping the TI on my DDX6029 car system

Hi,
The TI (Traffic Information) tripped onto my screen and worked a treat. It has now disappeared and I don't know how to get it back. Can you help?

  • Kilibazza Feb 26, 2008

I have had a look at the PDF and it does not tell me how to switch on the TI. It doesn't come on automatically and switch off automatically.

  • Kilibazza Feb 26, 2008

I have now managed to set and un-set the TI thanks very much for the information in the PDF. Brilliant!!

As per this manual here(page 32) it's supposed to come on automatically whenever it receives a traffic bulletin, and go off afterwards.

What does TI symbol on radio of BMW 535i mean

  • TI and TI+ stand for "Traffic Information". The letters are shown in the status line of the Control Display whenever a RTTI signal is received by the vehicle. Starting with March 2007 production, BMW has changed the text from "TI+" to "TI" to simplify the display. For BMW's made in 2009 and later 1, 3 and 7 Series as well as Z4, TI means that the service is enabled, even though broadcast and/or content coverage may not be available in the area you are currently driving. In short ti on your head unit (radio) means that you are able to receive traffic information should you want to.

  • Hope this helps.

Temp is riding at 203 sometimes goes upwards of 221.. just bought it.. gettin nervous

203F is normal and even hotter is fine. The cooling system is pressurized and can go well over 212F and not boil over. The temperature sensor in your Cadillac is sensitive, and has the ability to show increments small as 1F. It's completly normal for the engine temperature to fluctuate based on climate and load, so an increase in temperature after accelerating onto the expressway, or during/after hill climbing is expected, and normal.
Not meaning to sound adroit, the information screen will only detract from your driving pleasure. For your own peace of mind, take my lead, and keep pushing the information button until the sentences in the information screen go blank, then forget it's there. When the computer system senses something outside normal parameters, you'll hear a tone and a sentence in the information screen will automatically appear, informing you.
So your car is fine relax and enjoy it.
Some tips- The Northstar engine in your Cadillac is an incredible feat of engineering (see, wikipedia.com) so it should be treated as the fine piece of equipment it is.
Make sure it can have plenty of clean air by keeping a good factory type air filter in it, NOT an aftermarket cold air intake system.
Use only the best motor oil and filters, NOT the cheapened brand name products at chain oil changing shops.
Use only the best premium gasoline available regardless of the cost, either Shell V-Power or Sunoco Ultra 93.
If you take care of your car it will take care of you. I can personally attest that when the weather is at its worst, nothing feels as confident and invulnerable as a big GM car. Enjoy it.

Bissell ClearView powersteamer carpet cleaner does not seem to be dispensing water in the pre-treat mode

Pretreating (optional)
Note: Pretreating is recommended to improve
cleaning effectiveness for heavily soiled carpet in
high traffic areas such as entryways and hallways.
A.
Spray the BISSELL Tough Stain Pre-treat formula
onto heavy traffic areas, soiled areas, or stains.
B. Allow to penetrate for at least 3 minutes.

Maybe isn't su[pposed to dispense water, just the Pre-Treat solution. Then after a few minutes, shampoo normally.
