Samsung sync master monitors were well known for bad capacitors, if you have a esr capacitor meter you can check in circuit, if not look for dome shape at the top of the capacitor, a dead give away it is open, also check for poor solder connections in the power supply inverter board area.
you may try this came from manual.
Power Management" "countdown 20 sec
INPUT SIGNAL OUT OF RANGE
This OSD may appear to inform you that the signal being sent to the display is not within
its frequency range. In this case, you would need to check the resolution and refresh rate
you have your video card set to, and adjust to be within the range of the display
mrmadgbull, How long will e17tg display the WIN-desktop before it goes to BLACK screen? Is it 1, 2 ...4, 5.....20 seconds? How old is unit? Does unit have internal ac to dc SMPS or external (lay on floor) SMPS? Did problem occur suddenly? What do you see on screen after "it" goes black and you shine a bright flashlight 1 inch from screen? Can you still see some icons being faintly displayed?? Is unit out of it's warranty period? If lcd panel is both black and blank, "switch-mode-power-supply" could be in full shutdown mode. If you see desktop, SMPS is in partial shutdown mode. You or electronics technician will need to evaluate and repair unit. Read my FIXYA profile for more options you may have open to you. Your monitor no different than any other "cold-cathode-fluorescent-lamp" backlit LCD monitor. There is a lot of DIY videos on YOUTUBE that deal with this type of monitor problem. Lots of tech types pick-up "black screen" lcd monitors at resale shops and refurbish them for less than $20 total cost, and they will work for another 2 -4 years. Do your research before making hasty decisions. If pocket is deep with disposable income, then just use e17tg as trade-in for new wide screen. Hope this was of some help. 12fixlouie
sorenke, Monitor "switchmode-mode-power-supply" going into shutdown mode when detecting a FAULT CONDITION with some other circuit or with itself. Your monitor has same technology as any other backlit lcd display!! Read more of my responses to owners that have BLACK screen problems. Some have BLACK and BLANK screen problems Do you know flashlight test of SMPS status? How old is unit? How many Total "ON" hours unit have? Do you know what a bad electrolytic filter capacitor looks like? Have you been to YOUTUBE yet? 12fixlouie
The problem could lie in your monitor screen not having enough power. This could lead to total destruction of your monitor as i had this problem before. The best solution: Get a new monitor or get it fixed.
HOw about the light on the tower? if its stedy green then the tower is ok then run a self test on monitor if it passes the monitor is also ok then unplug the power cable from the monitor and data cable also and press and hold the power button for 10 sec and then connect the monitor to the system
Try remove your VGA card and reinsert and test. And if the problem
persist then test your monitor to the other PCs and if it displays then
it could be the card is bad or the monito's resolution was ajusted
causing to be uncompatible for your PCs resolution.
I repair monitors
Based on other models , it sounds like you are having a powerboard-inverter issue.
