Webcam not detected on Lenovo X200s

I have Lenovo X200s 7470D12 with windows XP Professional SP3. My webcam is not detected in Device Manager, and I can not find it in Imaging Devices or control panel. I have downloaded the driver from http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-70600 and installed it successfully, but still no good result. Please help me to solve it. Thanks!

Hi,
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

How to begin using webcam

On Windows 7 and Windows 8 you can usually just plug in the webcam and wait a few seconds for Windows to automatically install basic/generic "driver" software which allows the webcam to work. You can check if the webcam is recognised and installed by going to Control Panel/Device Manager. In the Device Manager window locate and click on "Imaging Devices" to see your webcam listed. If there's a yellow exclamation point (!) or nothing listed under Imaging Devices then the webcam is not installed. In this case unplug the webcam, wait a few seconds, then plug it back in and see what happens.
With some webcams you must install software and drivers BEFORE you plug the webcam in. In that case, unplug the webcam then install drivers from a CD included with the webcam or download the drivers from the maker's website and install them. Make sure to choose the driver version specified as compatible with your version of Windows. After installing the drivers, restart the computer and wait for it to boot up fully, then plug in the webcam and see if it works.
One last possibility is that your webcam is too old to work with newer Windows versions. For example, we have an old Kodak DVC325 webcam which worked OK in Windows 98, ME, and Windows XP with SP1 and SP2, but it does NOT work in Windows XP with SP3 or any newer Windows version. Too bad, really, because it's a darn good little webcam!

I have windows xp sp3.my computer is not detecting i ball c12 webcam.it is properly connected to computer through USB as its nightvision lights are working... PLEASE HELP.....

Start by rebooting the PC... You may want to try different usb ports in the even that one of them is faulty. Check the Device Manager by right clicking on my computer, going to properties, and then go to the tab for devices and click device manager and see if the hardware is shown as attached. Have you tried inserting the disk that came with the webcam?

You need to enable the webcam by pressing Fn+Esc or Fn+F10 key combination. Also see if you can find the latest version of drivers on the lenovo support website for Windows 7 or at least Windows Vista. If it still doesnt get detected at least in device manager, try flashing the system BIOS to the latest version available on lenovo support website.
