hi,

i have recently just purchased a new optical drive as i thought my old one had broken. i have installed the new one (ASUS) but the same problem is occuring as when I had the old one in. It will copy audio files but not dvd files.I wonder if it is something to do with the computer.Please help!!

Hi,
Is this a Combi-Drive. they read and write CDs but only read DVDs.
Try it on another IDE connector, or change the jumper setting on the back to Master Or Slave.
If you are using Nero or similar, view the drives capabilities, and the formats of read/write that the device supports.
