I have had this DVD player for a year and it has worked fine. Last week we had it sitting on a hotel bed and plugged into the wall, and my husband tripped over the plug and it fell to the floor. Ever since then it will not play the same DVDs it has played all along. We get a message saying "Wrong disc". Any ideas how to fix this?

Re: DVD player dropped, now Wrong Disc error
Bad news ** it may have damaged the Laser or knocked it out of alignment. A Electronic Tech would have to do that kind of repair.
Depending on what brand it is it may not be cost effective to repair. If it was made in China there will probably be no parts available

hi... the problem might be in ur dvd... If ur dvd is perfect and u found that ur player has some problem means the best solution is that to clean up ur dvd player lense which plays a vital role in reading ur dvd when u insert into it...For cleaning up ur lense all u need is a lense cleaner dvd available in electronic shops.. u can purchase it and play that dvd as normal one.. ur problem will get solved..
Apparently the disc I was using had something wrong with it, but not until I was almost 4 hours into dubbing something over. Changed the disc and started over and it works fine now. I guess with all the problems I had with the Emerson unit, I figured this one was about to buy the farm as well. Sorry to bother anyone.
remove the cover of the unit and try to clean the lens with a soft clean dry cotton swab or if you have a compress air cleaner, just blow it. most of the time cleaning can solved this kind of problem. good luck!
