Connections problem

Question: What are the extra wires used for on the power cable for my fishfinder?
I found this on the carmin website under questions and answers. I think your cable is ok to use according to this.
--> Answer: Not all of the wires in the harness are required for use. To connect the unit to the power source, only the black & red wires are required (black to ground, red to positive). Here are descriptions of the other wires in the harness:
  • The Blue wire is used for a NMEA data out connection to another NMEA compatible device. The fish finder outputs NMEA 0183 version 3.01. The receiving device must be compatible with this format and looking for the NEMA sentences DPT, DBT, MTM, or VHW.
  • The Brown wire is used for a NMEA data in connection to receive data from another NMEA compatible device.
  • The Yellow wire is used to connect to an external buzzer or alarm to alert you to any alarms which have been set to sound on the device. The Yellow GARMIN wire connects to the negative end of the external alarm. The positive return on the alarm will connect to the red positive wire of GARMIN.
  • The green, white, and any other colors present have no connection purpose related to your fishfinder. The 18 Pin connector wiring harness is used by several other devices which utilize these wires.
If the device is only being connected to power & do not require a NMEA interface, PC connection, or external alarm support, only the red & black wires are required.

Garmin GTM 25 charger cord has broken wire inside.

Most likely that is the FM antenna lead that goes to the traffic receiver. It should only be connected on the end that goes to the receiver.

You say the GTM-25 is not charging. Is the fuse blown? The charger takes +12VDC from the lighter socket and supplies +5VDC to the GPS.

I need to know which wires to connect to a standard round garmin power data serial connection in order for my computer to see it. ie Which colour wires where in the plug.

Hi!

From the Garmin website:
https://buy.garmin.com/support/searchSupport/case.faces?caseId={187d6d40-540f-11df-dfe2-000000000000}

If you're using a DB9 connector, here's all the information you'll need.

Hope this helps

Dear Experts! My laptop (VGN FW30B sony) has the display problem, there is a red display on the screen. The red colour is very annoying me. Some technician said some Wire is broken, if we change the wire...

I think you have almost got to the crux of the matter, You say that if you press the cabinet it varies. I suspect it will be the lead connecting the screen to the mother board, or just a plug not in correctly.
You are correct with the assumption that as another screen is OK therefore the VGA drive is OK.
Get an engineer to take it to bits and check for a bad connection.

Dvd hook up

Depending on what leads you have and what connections your equipment has depends on how you would wire it up for a basic setup you need a set of three male to male rca a leads consisting of a RED WHITE and Yellow plugs at each end. Now on the back of your dvd player there should be three female holes the same colou as your plugs and near those holes it should say input plug the leads colour to colour now the other ends of the lead plug into the section of your amp thats says dvd input with the same style holes as the dvd player. then you need to run another cable the same as you have just used to take the sound and picture to the tv you start of plugging one end into the amp where it says monitor or tv out and then at the other end of the lead will plug into the tv in A/V1 or A/V2 if the A/V1 is being used for a video player or camcorder Yellow is Picture Red is Right Sound Channel And White is Left Sound Channel so only plud the matching colours to each other or you will end up no better off hopefully this helped if you get stuck my email is warneatbribie@hotmail.com
